He turned down celtic 4 years ago to attempt to join the premiership/gain promotion....

Hes desperate for a big job and this has now came along...he will sit with his thumb up his * and say nowt....hence being a puppet.....just because he turned us down doesn't mean hes a great manager with balls

I'm worried what Europe brings, new managers usually brings disastrous qualifying campaigns

Still dozen't make sense, to me anyway.
Coyle turned Lawwell down flat 4 years ago because Lawwell wouldn't promise him sufficient transfer funds, that sounds like a man of convictions to me.
I see this as Coyle, if he has got it, is determined to rebuild Celtic, take us to the next level. maybe QF of the CL, and make his mark in the footballing world again as a manager

I wish the process were more open. Fair enough, I can well believe that Coyle is the best we can get; but I want to know we at least offered the job to the likes of Clarke first.

I'm sure the Nevin thing is a joke. He's no more a coach than we are. Doubtless Coyle will bring his own man.

Hearing that Danny Lennon is being made director of football, with Coyle, Nevin and Shiels on the touchlines.

Sorry but some of the sources been quoted are a joke. Owen Coyle with Pat Nevin as assistant.... Bull *. There's been no solid news for the past few hours so all the Owen Coyle is the official next Celtic manager is a lot of *!

From Twitter Metro sports writer less than 10 minutes ago:

@marcmcardle1: David Moyes still hasn't said no to the Celtic job folks, and by all accounts he's BEEN asked. So Owen Coyle chat is academic at this point.
