I'd have Mick McCarthy before Owen Coyle.

I have a lot of time for Mick McCarthy, he was a very good manager in his day. His ideas are more and more out of date these days, though. At least Coyle still has some kind of finger on the pulse.

I really hope it's not Owen Coyle. The board know that almost any manager will win the league so they'll go for the cheapest option as opposed to the best.

I fully expect this forum to go into meltdown if Coyle is appointed. Yes a few want him but most are vehemently against him getting the job.

Owen Coyle is not gonna boost season ticket sales which could cost the club more than hiring a slightly more expensive manager.

Roy Keane would be a stupid choice especially for the board. Lawell and co will want a 'yes man' no doubt and Keane certainly isnt that.

In terms of on the park it would not be much better. Has done little of note as a manager and had a horrid time at Sunderland, only recently came back into the game with Ireland as well.

Who we go for will say alot for the direction the club is looking to go in. Appoint Coyle and you will have to extend the season ticket renewal for alot longer as that is not what the majority of fans will want, can judge that just by viewing the comments on here.

Appoint a young, hungry european coach with some interesting ideas and fans will become more excited. Give him a bit (just a bit Peter don't worry) of money to spend and we are onto a winner.

Over to you Desmond and co.

No manager, other than perhaps Larsson will. Besides, the effects of that would be very short lived if we didn't get through the CL qualifiers.

As Ian McCall says, the only way to continue Lennon's legacy is with Owen Coyle. Build on that, qualify for the CL groups and season ticket sales will increase.

I don't dislike Coyle as a person, i just don't think he has what it needs to take us further.

Can anyone imagine Coyle being in charge for 4 years? I can't.

I just cannot imagine him being in charge. How long has he been out of a job now? I've actually forgotten what style of football his sides play.

Got sacked at Wigan in December they played horrible hoof ball to the big men up front (Holt and Fortune) he was known for passing football at Bolton and Burnley though so no idea how he would have us playing
