Tuchel was the manager of Mainz in Bundesliga. Had them playing good technical football (as is par for the course in Germany) and got them into Europa last season finishing 7th. Finished 5th before that.
Bit like a German Moyes really. With less of the stupid look about him :smiley-laughing002: and probably a * of a lot cheaper.

Pereira well he is like a mini Mourinho or Villas Boas - comes from that school of Porto coaches. Won 2 cups and 2 Leagues on the trot with Porto (against very good Benfica sides - more than can be said of Boas or Mourinho as Benfica were a mess back then) losing none and drawing only 6.
His European experiences are patchy at best. Went to UAE and resigned at the beginning of this month after losing the cup final.

Tuchel would be unreal, but I doubt he'd come here. Garcia might be a good, cheap alternative to him.

I think our new manager is going to be Oscar Garcia. I also heard that Lennon will be the next Brighton manager

People who haven't heard of Tuchel only need to know one thing: he's the new Jürgen Klopp. I think that says it all. That being said, it's a totally unrealistic target, somebody just said he's a great young manager and that he's destined for great things and now we're discussing Tuchel as one of the possible candidates. Nope, not going to happen.

But if it would or if the board would at least try to get him, that to me would be a sign that the club wants to go forward and that they are ambitious as a club of this stature should be, SPL or no SPL.

Oscar Garcia would be an equal step in the right direction.

What I don't want is to see another ex-player who will get the job because he's an ex-player. That's utter stupidity. They should choose the candidate based on what he brings to the club not who he played for a decade ago. And if you ask me, it may be even better to bring in someone who has no connection to Celtic or Scottish football because they have no baggage with them, they can start from scratch.

Whoever we appoint, I hope they do it quickly.

We have huge games coming up soon and need the team settled for it. Plus the fact it's annoying waiting about.
