Would love to see that, but don't think it would happen as that would involve a compensation deal and knowing Dundee United and Thompson they would seize on the opportunity to demand a medium sized fee, which if we get someone approaching us for the job i.e Coyle then we know who the board are going to opt for.

Michael Laudrup would be a great appointment imo. Been very successful at every team he's worked at minus Spartak, had a hard job last season at Swansea trying to manage between Europe and Premiership with such a small squad but they were a revelation the season before.

He's got an eye for a player and plays a great style of modern attacking football that would be welcome at us! Morten Wieghorst has been his assistant at Swansea as well and would join him... clutching at straws maybe haha :icon_mrgreen:

    Show some ambition Lawell please

My two favourite players, Larsson and Keane, have distanced themselves from the position, so * knows. I am just hoping we pick someone that will encourage the team to play attractive football. Barring Neil Lennon's first season or so, we've not seen exciting play for a very long time at Celtic Park.

Laudrop would be good, same with big Slavin Bilic two decent managers, but cant see any big name or manager with experience comming unless he's given proper money from the millions sitting in the celtic vaults.

I'd be thrilled with Laudrup, but I don't think we'd offer him the money he wanted personally, or the budget he would want either.

Laudrup was linked with the Real job last summer- he's highly regarded in Europe. Would be an ambitious appointment.

Don't really give a * who the manager is as long as he or even she does a good job for Celtic.
As long as they don't * up in the league (coming in 2nd or worse is a * up) and also have a good run in Europe i will be happy.

Because at this time he fits the boards bill, i hope it's not Owen Coyle but with the way our board sees things then that's the way they are going to go.

Sadly, I've had three sources separate of one another confirm it's Coyle

    Definitely.

Realistically if I could hand pick them right now it'd be Laudrup as manager and Wieghorst assistant.

Given some of the comments on this thread, I hope people are mature enough to welcome Owen, to our club, when this is confirmed.
