Mackay would be rated the same as Coyle, if he wasn't sacked in December. Cardiff would have still got relegated. His stock wouldn't be as high.

Coyle is only getting flack because of that. So, he choose EPL over us. He was a young manager at the time, maybe thinking this was his only chance of managing in the EPL. I'm not going to begrudge him of that.

I will welcome him, as will all of the support.

most of them will be heading to the epl anyway so does not matter who comes in.
No doubt the board will fail to offer all of them a contract.:icon_mrgreen:

Couyle got the players of St Johnstone, Burnely, Bolton & Wigan playing. He will get us playing.

The new manager should vehemently oppose Forster and VVD getting sold. And then, work on getting a good defensive midfielder in.

Owen Coyle still lives off when Burnley got a few minutes away from the league cup final and when they beat United 1-0 at Turf Moor

Wigan would have been better picking no midfielders all he did was hoof it to holt from defence, wigan fans demanded compensation for neck strain watching the ball in the air for 90 minutes every week

The thought of Owen Coyle being the Celtic manager gives me the dry boak. What a totally uninspiring choice he would be.

Starting to think it was a good move backing him at 8/1 though.

He left Burnely, & Single handily saved Bolton that season. Give him credit where its deserved.

Coyle did get Burnley playing good football, and he initially did awesome with Bolton with guys like Mark Davies, Muamba, Lee, Elmander and Co all playing pretty neat football. It all went pear shaped when Elmander left, Muamba retired, Holden got injured and Cahill was sold.
