Can you give us your opinions on Shakhtar? I realise they are in Ukraine not Russia now but do you see their games on TV? They were very good a few years ago when we played them- a very technically good side like Spartak. I was also very impressed by Dynamo Kiev in the old days.

All the best. You are a great side and have a very good chance of winning the Uefa cup.

Hope spartak destroy CSKA when you meet them in your derby and any other derby's as the season goes on.
That was the game of football people loved

Initially I did not write, but then decided thank you.
Fascinating you people Seltik supporters. I waited all, but good word for INS ... could it because of the fact that we have not accepted, at least from the fans of CSKA, lying or locomotive is heard Fiction)))
Thanks for the kind words addressed to Spartak. Personally, I and many others will think Spartak fans aching for Celtic in the League Cup.

Sorry for any mistakes, my English is not very good))

It is heartening to read your kind words

Matter of Shakhtar I will tell you that this is a strong team.
Over the summer transfer window they are strengthened. What is only buying Lucarelli, who by the way has already started knocking goals.
Speaking with them will not taste.

Incidentally))), I am thinking to leave here and wash in green and white T-shirt in Donetsk on your game with them)))! Really! Certainly, if you will travel to Moscow in May ;) , The entire stadium will be aching for you! ! !

Sevilla kicked Shakhtar out of the UEFA Cup last season
Kicked in extra time after Sevilla's goalkeaper scored at 94th minute of match
This summer Shakhtar spent 70 million dollars for newbies (more than Spartak's total yearly spents). I only watched Shakhtar playing their second half against Red-Bull Salsburg (we were sitting in the pub and waiting for Celtic vs Spartak live), and can say that their players are well enough. Shakhtar plays football similar to Spartak's one, i think.

    sorry for bad English :fear:

I see no reason for Celtic not to beat Shakter. They are the strongest club from <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:country-region w:st="on">Ukraine</st1:country-region>, but they used to be much stronger back in the <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">USSR</st1:place></st1:country-region> days. Now they have a good set of players, they have Lucarelli and some players from <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Brazil</st1:place></st1:country-region>. Spartak played a friendly game with Shakter in 2006, the score was 2:2. BTW, Spartak bought Pletikosa from Shahter. Despite that Pletikosa is the #1 goalkeeper of the Croatian national team, he was the second goalkeeper in Shahter and wanted to go play for another club. The football season in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Ukraine</st1:place></st1:country-region> started 7 matches ago. Shakhter is leading now with 19 points, but Dnepr has 19 points as well after 7 games.

Man, we are anxious about beating CSKA on Sunday! We haven’t beaten them for 6 years, can you imagine?! But CSKA hadn’t beaten us for 8 years back in the 90s :)

The only thing i know 'bout Shakhtar is that our Pletikosa is a former Shakhtar goalie. And "Shakhtar" means a "mine worker".) I saw its last game in CL qualification round and can say, that Shakhtar is rather competent and strong-willed team.
We gonna face Hacken from Sweden in UEFA Cup, does anybody know anything about this club?

Yeah, I remember that was a crazy game! Palop, the goalkeeper of Seville, scored a goal and made it 2:2 when it was something like only 20 seconds of the official time left! In the extra time <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Seville</st1:place></st1:City> beat Shakher 3:2.

Think that the team that put out Dunfermline (they qualified for the Uefa cup as runners up of the Scottish cup) although they got relegated out the Premier League last season, finishing dead bottom.

If its them, then they only put out Dunfermline 2-1 on Aggregate, so Spartak should destroy them, big time.

Not being cocky but Spartak should be proud , bigger teams have came and went away empty handed from CP and i have seen Milan,Barca and co at home but some of the football you played was on a par wiht them

I have lots of relatives in Eastern Ukraine and it wont be that hard for me to travel to Shakhtar-Celtic too. That's like 8 hours from Moscow on train. Good idea. :))

I would go, but the stadium there is very small, the capacity is only 25,000 and the population of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Donetsk</st1:place></st1:City> is over a million, so I think the tickets for the game will be sold out at the speed of light.
