I'm still surprised Murray got this far. Considering the surgery he had, I thought he would have played awful on clay which he is notoriously poor with. The clay game is also quite hash physically so I thought he would have wanted to be horsed out pretty early.

If Rafa is hammering him from the off, I fully expect Murray to pack it in and let him have it at ease, rather than gruelling his way through when Rafa will take it anyway. Murray's eye will be on Wimbledon.

I read an interview with Murray today where he was saying how he is playing with a smile again now that he is almost fully fit.

I think a grueling match with Nadal is the perfect preparation for Wimbledon.

Why is that do you think? Maybe to prepare him for the real tests that he will face if he wants to win a grandslam again?

Pretty much mate. Lets be honest, he has a 20% (if that) chance of beating the king of clay so the further he can push himself and test himself is going to stand him in good stead come Wimbledon.

If he could take Rafa to 5 sets or at least 4 close sets then he will know much better where his body is and what it can stand come the big one.

Hopefully Murray and Nadal's match will be an epic 6 hour tussle with both players being completely knackered at the end. Then Novak can wipe the floor with the winner on Sunday afternoon and complete his set of Grand Slam titles. :86:

I think there is more chance of me winning the lottery than of him beating Nadal then Djok......but i am more than pleased with the way he has performed, and i can see him winning another major this year!

Umm he has beaten both Nadal and Djokovic while i doubt you have won the lottery MGM so while no doubt it was tongue in cheek he has a chance.

I know...i just meant he hasnt beaten them both in one major, (i dont think) and especially the bit about Nadal on this surface........and then to meet Djok who has had a lot easier ride to the final.

Given the choice though, id choose me winning the lotto! :50:

I think the odds of you winning the lottery are 14,000,000 to 1.

Somehow I don't think you will get that on Andy winning Roland Garros so stop talking nonsense.

Nadal has an easy route to the final see.... good thing he's got Ferrer over and done with. Should be 3 straight sets for Rafa realistically.

The first set is all important but as Ferrer found out winning that guarantees nothing against Nadal on clay.
