Dont see it happening....we have just bought a striker.

Would rather the money was spent replacing efe and izzy.

Would be an odd one, to bring in a guy on loan to be our first choice striker when we have one guy who has scored in every SPL game so far, and another who was our no.1 priority signing this summer and seemingly is the manager's preferred choice.

Were we signing him permanently or had we not signed Ciftci I might be able to get my head round this, but as it stands, it's paper talk bullshit. I loved Hooper and would welcome him back but he's not one of Ronny's players and it could disrupt the balance.

He'll join Lenny and Bolton and watch England fizzle away. Such a shame.

Cause he was in the paper two days ago saying how much he's still choking to play for England. And he knows fine well playing in the SPL that chance will go forever if he was to come back here.

    This deal isn't happening.

Except the closest he's came to a call up was when he was playing in the Champions Leagut with us, knows a guy who got called up and played while he was with us and he knows he's extremely unlikely to get a call up where he is just now.

Can he play a lone striker role though?

He'll probably get his call up sitting on the bench at Norwich

Aye, he scored 31 goals his last season for us as a lone striker. Scored 7 in 18 in Europe for us. As long as he has support when he's the lone striker he's great.

Said it before - does he still have the same hunger and desire? For me, that's the single biggest thing!

Add to that, if msm are to be believed, a loan fee plus £32k a week? But much IMO, plus breaks our structure, so I would suggest unlikely on that basis.

As much as I want a left back, we need a striker more. Why would be replace Efe who is a back up centre half?

When's the last time he played more than 15 minutes for Norwich? In fact when was the last time he started?

You believe what you want after all were all aloud to. Sure Alan Thompson got a call up but it took to long. 2004 he got called up but was superb for 3 years before. And it was the only call up he got.

Everybody knows how the English look upon our game and our league. If you think Hooper will get a call up to England if he came back here and now after failing in the Premiership I'd say that was rather daft.

I don't think he will but I think there's a far better chance of him getting a call up playing in the Champions League than their is sitting on Norwich's bench. He had a chance at one point, he didn't take it. He's well out of the picture for a call up now.

Still though, facts are he was going to get one then he got injured while at us. The closest he has ever came to it happened while playing for Celtic.

Hooper needs to ask himself how he plans on getting a call up. He won't get it at Norwich because he can't even get a game there and he won't get a call up here unless he fires us to the CL quarter finals or something.. And even then..

You're not getting the call up Gary. You left to try and get noticed and it hasn't worked out, so just come home.

More chance of a call up rattling goals in up here and (more importantly) the Champions League than rotting away at Norwich.

The problem he'll be experiencing down there is he takes half a dozen games to get up to speed and that isn't allowed in the top flight down South. He is plenty good enough for Norwich.

Gary Hooper is kidding himself if he thinks he'll get a call up for England. Even if he comes here and bangs them in again he won't get one. If he stays down there he won't get one.

"The aim was to play in the Premier League and for England. I still hope to play for my country, but I am very proud of my goalscoring record. You could say it has been an eventful career so far.”

That's all he said about playing for England.

    He also said..

“I loved it in Scotland,” said Hooper. “A lot of people say the standard of football up there is not very good, but Celtic would cope well if they were in the Premier League.

Crying out for us to sign him! :fear:
