    As soon as I saw this thread, I wondered how long it woukd take someone to post that. :smiley-laughing002:

    Stupid idea for a fixture IMO. People would definitely get hurt.

    That's a bit over the top. I personally think it stupid to arrange friendlies like this but there are plenty of Celtic fans that live in London and are proud of this all year round (mcguire, Celtic Warrior and plenty of others)

    Not quite what I said really, was it? If I'd said "In fact, I'd go as far as saying that any Celtic fan who goes to such a game and runs into trouble deserves a slap" then you may have a point.

    I didn't though, did I? I said they wouldn't deserve sympathy.

    I'd agree that it was unfortunate, but I wouldn't be sympathetic. The majority of football fans know the history of that club, so they know the risks of going to such a game.

    They don't want us in their league set up but they are happy to take our money for their testimonials because of our massive travelling support. * Millwall and * England. I hope no Celtic supporters go.

    I think we should go and plant a Saltire/Tricolour in the centre circle. Fuds.

    That's one thing but why put yourself in the situation unless you have to? Let's play Norwich and feel the love. Better yet, play a team in the North of England so I can go. :icon_mrgreen:

    Exactly. They * despise us down there, so why should we run the risk of bother from their knuckledragger support only to help them raise money?

    * that.

    Yeah, it makes me sick every time we are invited to take part in an English testimonial. I wish all the Celtic support shared our attitude to these games. They only ask us because of the easy/guaranteed money.

    Disgraceful thing to say. Nobody deserves to be hurt simply for following their team though I would have little sympathy with those who try to obtain tickets in the Millwall end.

    Agreed. I'd be a bit more selective of who we entertain in such games. No doubt the club itself makes a bit of money from these games, but the suits won't have to put up with the Millwall locals who will no doubt be out looking to bash a few "IRA sympathisers".

    Go back and quote where I said anyone "deserved to be hurt".

    If the match does happen those who stick to the away end, central London pub, don't sing any song that may be interpreted as an IRA song and don't wear colours will be fine. Go against just one of those and your life is at risk for this fixture.

    Games against Rangers will look like friendly matches compared to what will happen against Millwall.

    In other words, pay to travel to London, keep your head down and just give them your money. If you don't display too much pride in your club or your clubs heritage you may get out without getting a slap?

    Sounds like fun. I think I'd rather keep my money for something a bit safer, like a gay cruise to Uganda.
