  1. Lack of pace isn't a huge problem when you've got the opposition pressed in their own half, but the killer ball and ability to link the play and nab a goal from in and around the box definitely is something that's needed. I think he's worth keeping as the latter few points are his speciality, and he also thrives on playing in important games.

He's been a great servant here and I'd like to think we could find a role for him as he has natural ability and technique that doesn't just disappear and he'll guarantee you goals over a run of games. The guy has never been a presser, and hasn't had pace since he played wide in his early 20s and even then he wasn't quick; he can still do a job here.

  2. I have always been under the impression he was one of our highest earners. He was on 20k when he first arrived, don't know if that has changed with different contracts, perhaps.

  3. Even if he isn't playing, he's stated he won't look towards moving clubs until at least January.

  4. If he is not going to get game time the club should put him up for sale .

Apparently lost a stone and a half, hard to say, but he looks in decent shape there.

Would always keep him around, guarantees goals at this level. If he's prepared for a bit part role, that is.

  5. He's looking well!

Anyone who thinks Commons is finished with us or a candidate to be shipped out is deluded. Rodgers knows how good he is... got a couple more great years in him yet. Arguably still one of our best on his day. Can't wait to see him back sharp, a few pounds lighter he will be like a new signing.

  6. true. :50:

  7. He is looking solid there. Still, he doesn't fit in with how Brendan plays, he's greedy, doesnt do the defensive dirty work enough and he's not very mobile these days.

Been a great servant and would have liked to have seen him hit 100 but if it's not to be, it's not to be.

  8. Wouldn't right him off yet,He isn't that old etheir mind Lubo was 33 when he signed for us,Kris could still make an impact for us if given the chance

  9. He's going to need to alter his game if he wants to be selected. Looks to be on the right track if that picture is anything to go by.

  10. Lubo was special though. Commons, as good as his record is for us is nowhere near what Lubo Moravcik was to us, imo.

  11. He's a great back up option to have for Rogic in the No.10 position behind the strikers. None of this shunting him out wide to accomodate Johansen and * like Ronny did.

In his best position behind the strikers he's lethal both domestically and more importantly on the European stage for us.

Yesterday my big cousin came to visit, hadn't seen him in a while and was shocked when he said he's now 32. He's as fit as a fiddle as he's a personal trainer but it really hit home to me that Commons ( he'll be 33 this month) really isn't that old at all even in football terms, in fact, he really could have another 3-4 years left if he works hard to impress Brendan who could as we've seen with others hand him a new contract, he's a guy who loves and gets the club and shows lots of passion.

If it wasn't for him last year our EL campaign would have been even more highly embarassing as he contributed every game whether that be scoring or assisting.

Good to see him back in training and I look forward to seeing him out on the pitch again.

  12. You're right he's nowhere near the level of Lubo, in fact they don't even enter the same stratosphere as each other footballing wise.

However, Commons proved last year that he's still got it both domestically and in Europe for us if he's played in his proper position.

If Rogic picks up an injury or loss of form then Commons is the next player we have who I'd like to see come into his position.

  13. Not sure where he fits in anymore, if he's happy sticking around and being on the bench great, but wouldn't have him starting ahead of Rogic and I'm not sure what other position he'll fit in, not really mobile enough for the other midfield positions the way we play.

  14. He's actually looking really slim there :50:

  15. Nah not for me. I'd rather have Armstrong in there and that's saying something. He at least runs and tries to do a bit.

I'm coming across like I'm being harsh on Commons here but I just don't see why people think he can play a role in this system we want to play.

  16. he's lost weight over the past few weeks

  17. Aye he looks the best shape I've seen him there to be fair.

  18. Why didn't he lose weight before?
