Rojo has impressed me quite a bit as well. They're not a star-studded team of course but you're right, calling them a poor side is stupid.

I know there's reasons why he doesn't get picked anymore but Tevez should have been there. A much, much better option to bring on then Palacio. I probably would have started him this tournament anyway.

once Di Maria wasn't in the side it allowed teams to completely focus on Messi. Everytime he got the ball he had 2-3 opposition players marking him. I don't really think he's lost any of his sharpness, any player in history would struggle with absolutely no space.

Don't see why not. He played less games and did more in those games.

Yeah I suppose but it's just sickening.

They definitely aren't a poor side but bar Messi their better players have been mediocre this year.

I know it's unprofessional but if I was him I would have been cursing the * that injured him.

Well deserved Germany. Better than Argentina tonight and best in the tournament.

Messi clearly doesn't deserve the Golden Ball. Absolute joke. Should go to James Rodriguez, with Muller a close second.

I agree. If they had the heart the Costa Rican players showed for example in this tournament, they would maybe have won.

Even then, that would maybe not have been enough against an excellent German team.

Agüero, Mascherano, Higuaín, Lavezzi, di María, Zabaleta etc are all world class players.

Come on it's been half an hour since they lost. Don't overreact.

Messi looked almost embarrassed to win the Golden Ball.

La concha de tu madre... That's the way it goes. Palacio and Higuain had great chances. They failed. Gotze had a great chance. He came through.

And if you read this whole thread you'd think 99% of the players in the WC would fail to get into St. Mirren's reserves.

How can you say Di Maria and Aguero aren't world clack but Ozil is:56::56:

Ozil started well at Arsenal when he first arrived for the first 4-5 months then his influence and form just dipped. Di Maria had a world class season just there with Madrid.

The three them are easily world class for me though.
