Might not be the thread to talk about it as everyone is talking about squads but is this even going to be ready in time?

Most of the stadia is still not complete, the so called infrastructure overhaul that was meant to happen in Brazil has not happened. I mean they opened the first stadium recently whilst it was still being worked on, there were seats being put in whilst a game was ongoing!

The actual stadium interiors will be finished in time. São Paulo, Cuiabá and Curitiba are the only stadium interiors that need finished. I think Porto Alegre's Beira Rio needs work on the exterior done. I think that is it in terms of stadiums, but there is a lot of problems in other areas.

São Paulo's Arena Corinthians is just about finished, with the second tier temp stands almost finished. Beyond that the damaged roof needs to be covered and the FIFA box needs to go in.

Cuiabá's Arena Pantanal (I guess this is the one you are talking about) has officially been opened, and here is the latest pictures from a Série B game between Luverdense 2 x 1 Vasco da Gama. A few seats in the second tier need to go in but that won't take long. A think there will be a quick clean up outside before the games start.

Last one is Curitiba's Arena da Baixada. This along with the Beira Rio it is one of two privately run stadiums, run by the club Atlético Paranaense. For that reason it has taken longer as the club aren't that rich and were a bit unwilling to put money into the stadium instead of players. Plus the poor organising by the authorities. The state has paid over $100 million, while Atlético Paranaense have paid $35 million to get the stadium done.

It looks weird from the outside, just a big box.

And most seats are in, even if it doesn't look it because of the colour.

Outside of stadiums, São Paulo has failed to finish a rail link between the Airport and the city. They also failed to finish the terminal expansion. Curitiba failed to complete a new train link but it is quite well known for having a good bus system so maybe that will be OK.

Transport in the Nordeste and Manaus will be, em, fun :smiley-laughing002:. Manaus I think had a lot of money pushed into it as it's run in a unique way in Brazil. It's growth came about because the military dictatorship wanted to populate the Amazon to keep control of it. It's get lots of breaks to keep the manufacturing centre there. You can only really get there by plane and the Airport isn't great I don't think after money was wasted and stuff like that.

Mas vai ser uma grande Copa!

Was watching Sky Sports News earlier and the panelists were talking about the Southampton players and which ones should go to the WC. One of them said they would take Carroll over Lambert:smiley-laughing002:

Carroll's scored 2 goals this season, the guy is useless.

Ones in bold are the only actual quality players there, rest are average or just above it. Maybe Lallana on that list aswell but I'm not fully sure about him.

Seriously think they will get pumped with that squad right there.
