Outside of the Irish situation, or the referendum at the moment, we are just like every * team in the World: most of our fanbase sees Celtic Park as a place to escape from politics, not as a forum to further discuss the key political issues.

Football is about having a few beers and a few laughs with your mates whilst you have a couple of days off work: nothing more.

And yet much of the Politics spouted out by the Green Brigade would be completely at odds with the conservative Catholic clergy who played a significant role in our creation...

How do you know that? The arguments on here suggest otherwise to my mind. I think you've only enjoyed one of the many good things football has to offer.

    Such as?

If you're going down that route boyo, Walfrid and Co would be COMPLETELY at odds with the cpmmercialization of our club, and how far out of reach it is from the poor.

Because I've been attending football at Celtic Park for 35 years...

The amount of serious political discussion I have heard in that time is few and far between.

The way some go on on here you would think that Question Time should visit one of our home games. They are in the minority in real life but a sizable percentage of posters on here which is why they believe their own hype.

Why instead of just alluding to my posts won't you answer me directly?

Do you consider the GB to be politically mature?

I don't really care. Me, as a Socialist and a Republican, I agree with almost all of their politics. Some people on here who I respect most (such as Sween) disagree with much of it. Thing is, mate, if you disagree, make your own banners and start your own songs, don't instead try to make football apolitical, because it never has been. It's hardly the GB's fault if your political views don't fill you with sufficient passion to want to express them.

They probably would be, that's a fair argument, but lets not pretend that they would be in favour of half the looney lefty bollocks spouted out.
