Would have been common practice by any reputable organisations to suspend the employee during the investigative process. We didn't. We played him at the next opportunity (and our manager said he expects him to still be here next season... despite not having to say anything!).

LG, NL, and the Board, have all let us down badly during this debacle.

I expect him to be sacked or transfer listed immediately if he's found guilty.

There have been several in thread warnings left in this thread by staff members over the past few days. All of these have been ignored sooner or later. Staff members do not leave warnings to get threads back on topic for the good of their health or because they are bored, they do it for the good of the forum and it's members. If there is a warning left in thread to get back on topic then members are expected to do just that.

This will be the final such warning in this thread. From this point onward if the thread is derailed by members engaging in trolling/off topic squabbling then the member(s) involved will be held responsible and dealt with accordingly. The thread will not be closed to accomodate them.

The situation with Leigh Griffiths is certainly a live topic for debate amongst Celtic supporters at the present time so it is unfair on the majority of members who wish to discuss the subject if we close the thread because of the actions of a few.

PS. Just to be absolutely clear on one other matter, the posting of PM's on the main forum is a no-no. The member who did so has been made aware of this and everyone else should be aware of it too.

    Thread re-opened.

That kind of chat was acceptable at one point in our society, but times change. Your argument doesn't hold up i'm afraid.

Then call one "the shop", and the other the "I am incapable of being racially tolerant shop".

Let's be honest, if we all got along, none of us would bother our arses with this forum.

For what it's worth I think the song about Rudi Skacel is more ignorant than racist. As I've said before though, the problem Griffiths has is that this song is not an isolated incident. He has form in this area. You simply can't go on to a very public domain like Twitter and tell a guy with an Asian sounding name to "go back to your own country". It's just not on. If anyone should understand just how unacceptable that kind of talk is it should be Celtic supporters, we're all quick enough to condemn the zombies for telling the Irish to "go home" after all.

When you add the two instances together it is fair to wonder about the level of Griffiths' intelligence or whether he harbours any racist inclinations in his head. Either way it's not good.

There are bound to be some Celtic fans who are willing to trivialise these matters and stand by a Celtic player who's coming under attack. That'll always happen in this type of situation. Then there will be others who view the fact that Griffiths is a Celtic player as not being the primary issue here. I would tend to place myself in the second camp. Griffiths was known to be a hothead and a liability off the park before he ever arrived at Celtic, it was one of the reasons I never wanted us to sign him in the first place. Not the only reason I'll freely admit but definitely one of them.

If the club decide to sack him, sell him or dispose of him in whatever way they see fit then I won't be at all disappointed as I don't believe Griffiths would be any great loss to Celtic Football Club in the long run anyway. As a footballer he's easily replacable.
