Brilliant, never even noticed that contradiction on English football. The other 10 got me hooked though.

That still wouldn't be the same as what Griffiths did. I think it's a bit of a stretch from what he sang to calling someone a * *. I'm presuming the person would only get called a * * if he was actually black as well.

    It's similar.

Eastern Europeans are struggling to fit in here, being abused and persecuted on a daily basis. "YER TAKIN OOR JOABS", "GTF BACK WHUR YE CAME FAE".

Just because they aren't black doesn't make the abuse or violence any less abhorrent.

I bet if the same song was about a black footballer from Sierra Leone this story would be all over the main news never mind just the Scottish news.

Discrimination comes in all forms, it's not just about the colour of someones skin. And none of it is banter either.

Well it is about skin colour if you call someone a * *. I was only going by your example.

Why do you think the likes of John Glass, John Conway, Pat Welsh, John McLaughlin, Michael Cairns and many other of Celtic's founding fathers were in Glasgow in the first place?

This thread is an awesome thread.

Think I might listen to some Oasis classics.... and I hate Oasis.
