All-Ireland gaa championship 2014

Might as well start a one for this year so who's everyone's favourites for Sam so far

will RTE and BBC still be showin the games?

 

Really hope this fails if it works out its just going to get bigger and bigger the players ask for money and just completely ruin what Gaelic games are all about

 

Just got into last year while I was over in Ireland, we were in Clare during the final. I joined a local hurling league a few weeks ago actually.

BBC has only got the Ulster matches. Sky will have the rights to the all ireland matches in the north. Speaking to one of the blokes at the county board a few days ago and he said a lot of the county boards are against this deal as it opens it up for Sky to bid on all the rights after the 3 years deal

They will never get more games then rte and if its only in the north then * yeas

I would say Sky is not paying anywhere near what RTE is paying for GAA.

Although the players should be getting something for the commitment they make to the game already.

 

I think it will ruin it if the players get paid its not fair on everyone eles who dosnt play for there countys

 

There is no the North in GAA. It is Ulster, Munster, Connacht and Leinster.

Mate of mine lives in London and is chuffed ha.. I thought it was mainly for this reason Sky wanted it with the amount of us over there and I didn't think it would take from RTE etc.. It's all about money to the GAA and sky have more, simples...

As for who is going to win the football.. Dublin or Cork but Im going to go with the Dubs. shocker haha... Dubs for the double.

 

There should be some sort of set compensation for players to cover the extra commitment of playing for their county. This should be paid by central council to ensure each county gets equal treatment.

 

Well not really, i have been playing club football for 15years from a child. Senior team for 6 years, i would always play for my club, and 99.9% of GAA players are the same.

But we train 3 evenings a week, county players could be training 5 days a week, twice a day, they are sacrificing their work to play county football.
I think they deserve something for their commitment to the sport, if only expenses paid.

 

They took the TV3 package as far as i know.

Sam needs to come back up to Ulster.

 

Dubs squad is far too strong IMO but ya never know in championship games.. if does go to Ulster, anyone but those Donegal munters.
