In respect of we 55% being * who settled!:icon_mrgreen:

Not everyone voted for the same reason, or felt the urge to jump on a bandwagon because it became fashionable overnight.
90% of those who voted Yes wouldnt have voted Yes 10 years ago, but yet are incredibly bitter towards those who didnt get on board.......i find it confusing.

90% you are just pulling figures out yer hole as usual, how would you possibly know figures as such, and there is no bandwagon in a nation wanting to be independent, this has only alluded to waken people up to the political situation in the Union,we wont be going to the back of the bus

:smiley-laughing002: Try be a bit realistic theres no way we would have defeated the Brits so we had to take what we were given. De Valera was anti treaty and remember it wasn't just about the six counties it was about taking an oath. De valera supports a civil war and 10 years later he goes into government and takes the oath saying it meant nothing. Its all about power.

Of course i pulled that figure out the air.........what figure would you use if hazarding a guess?

It is and was a bandwagon.I wont take another guess at a figure incase i annoy you again, but a year before the ref, the polls were way different from those near the actual ref......5 years ago they were even more diluted.
How can people change their political views so quickly and it isnt a bandwagon?

It was totally a momentum thing, added to by the Commonwealth games and the poor finances of the country......and the rise of UKIP down south.
Granted many people may well intend to remain indy minded, but i think it is completely unfair the way Yes voters view No voters........just because they disagree with them politically.
The whole perception of being cowards and fearful and selfish is a complete joke and insulting to those who got off their * to vote NO.

So your saying De Valera was a scumbag who sold Michael Collins out while playing take it down from the mast:smiley-laughing002: It doesn't make much sense Michael Collins was a free stater. Don't get me wrong I hate the way fine geal love the old IRA and try and say the campaign in the north was different. I believe getting 26 counties was a stepping stone towards freedom that doesn't make me a traitor. If there wasn't a civil war we could have had a United Ireland a long time ago.

Dev defiantly backed Collins into a corner but Collins to me would still be a traitor and I don't think I'm alone in that view I'm sure most republicans would have that view but De Valera is definitely the biggest scumbag of the lot I'd probably rate Edward Carson higher then him and freedom is based on the ideal of equality for all not just the majority and how did the Civil war stop a united Ireland it did nothing but disenfranchise republicans the troubles or even the war of independence would have done more damage

How is Collins a traitor,he was forced to go to London by De Valera who knew there was no chance of a united Ireland,Collins saw the treaty as a stepping stone and the best that could be got at the time from the British

I know he was backed into a corner by Dev but he still sold out the north from a republican prospective he's most definitely a traitor same as Dev but at lest Collins only sold out once

The Cival war stopped a United Ireland because the one time we got land we ended up fighting for a year. Then the Brits thought * that they're getting nothing else. If you look through History you'll see the Irish peope never settled for what they had. Just look at the Land issue etc. The Civil war didn't get us anywhere and if the anti treaty had won we would have been back to square one.
