    Sounds like an excuse straight from the big Met police rolodex of lies. Any demonstration on which they have been battering people they say 'they were throwing urine at us!' - which is something that just never happens on demonstrations, or anywhere else other than Leeds festival really.

    He did mate, but the gripe is that he got community service instead of a custodial sentence the *!
    If that had been the same man as a civilian doing that to a policewoman, he would have got a year minimum!

    He deserved to lose his job for sure, but demanding that he be thrown in jail for "many years" is a bit off in my opinion.

    Men skelp women every day and they don't get jailed for it, do they? Maybe if the law was tougher on everyone we'd have seen him suffer a harsher sentence.

    I believe they should. There is absolutely no need for such aggression and it does not help anyone. If they can't be reasonable, they should be kept in captivity.

    Of course there isn't, and if the laws were much tighter on these types of people (as I believe they should be) then we could be asking why this guy won't do prison time.

    As the law stands though, you can't throw him in jail simply because he's a cop, but allow scumbags up and down the country to get a slap on the wrist for the same crime.
