Dembele would be better up front on his own than griff.....but griff is the better goal threat imo.

We should play 2 up front at the Nou Camp with Sinclair and Roberts out wide, give us the chance of scoring a goal or two as we know we're going to get pumped anyway would rather lose 6-2 than 4-0.

Really? Think the best way to get at Barca is to have somecunt good at sitting on the last defenders shoulder and exploiting the high line. Dembele is more of a back to goal kinda guy. While holding the ball up is important to gove the defence a break, it's almost useless against Barca when your camped in at the Nou Camp.

Give their defenders a wee worry about the space behind them and maybe, if you're lucky, it can give them a wee issue.

I think Dembele can do a bit of both, personally.

He has the power and pace to run channels and go in behind while he can also win balls in the air from kick offs or long punts when we will (no doubt) be relieving pressure.

I'm just thinking purely about what kind of game it is going to be. We won't see much of the ball and in games like that Griffiths can be less effective. As much as I like him.

I don't actually think Dembele will start, for what it is worth and given all of Griffiths' work it would be harsh to drop him.

The best games at the Nou Camp are when teams put 2 up front, like Betis the other week who lost 6-2, when teams play with 2 strikers against them they usually always scored a goal or two or sometimes 3 although they tend to get well skelped and conced 6-8 themselves.

Better to do that I think, have a more open game and try and take a few goals off them than sit backs to the wall getting pummeled with no outlet and losing 2-5 nil.

Don't really disagree with that but in the European games sl far I think Griffiths has offered more in terms of winning aerial duels etc with defenders. Dembele is more physical and athletic. He hasn't yet learned when to come short or go deep, ragdoll a defence or run the channels etc.

A lot of learning to do before he's the better option with one up top.

It's the getting skelped part that I'm wary of. This early into the Champions League campaign and the start of a new era that could leave scars on our teams physce. Even if it can happen to any team in world football.

Aye 6-2 or so wouldnt be bad though.

It is worrying that we've played them 10 times in the last 10 or so years and have only been badly beaten once when they won 6-1.

Most other teams have had severe doings in much less meetings than that. Think theyve even beat Real Madrid 5-0 and 6-1 in the last 4/5years.

We could if we're unlucky end up on the end of a 7/8 or 9-0 battering one of these times.

When that 6-0 happened all Incould think is we've played them far too many times not to take a skelping like that at somepoint. We weren't mentally 100% that night and we got absolutely shred to pieces for it.

We need to turn this into a fight and try and exploit the space at the back. I could actually see Rodgers going for Sinclair up top himself if I'm honest.

I just want to score a couple of goals away to them, out the 5 or so games we've had at the Nou Camp you can count our chances on 1 hand, we barely ever threaten them.

If we go to the Nou Camp and play with two wingers and two strikers it will be 9-2 no 6-2. :52:

I'd like that too but the problem with doing that to barca is they could quit easily score more than 6 :56:

6/7/8 all the same difference anyway

We've played them that many times now that we must give it a go once surely, sitting it not getting out our own half looking like East Stirling waiting to get picked off again is a waste of time.

I would disagree with this. It's more important we have him for Saturday in my opinion. It's more than likely we are going to leave the Nou Camp with no points to show anyway, regardless of whether Griffiths is fit or not. I'd much rather have him scoring on Saturday and helping us win, than maybe nick one in the Nou Camp whilst being on the end of a defeat, which is highly probable.

I've got complete confidence in Dembele to put them to the sword as well, that's where that line of thinking comes into it.

I've not completely gave up hope for the Nou Camp either, as illogical as that sounds.

    Lennon set up

    Forster
    Lustig Ambrose Wilson Izaguirre
    Mulgrew
    Brown Wanyama Ledley
    --------------------Samaras
    Hooper

    And

    Forster
    Lustig Ambrose Van Dijk Matthews
    Bitton
    Brown Ledley
    Pukki Samaras Boerrigter

To get decent attacks against them you really need 2 guys up the middle and 2 wide players getting forward as well otherwise your forwards are too isolated to do anything.

In our last 3 trips to the Nou Camp we've had 12 shots and 7 corners combined. Averaging 4 shots and 2 corners per game there. Its dreadful considering we've lost the 3 games anyway and had to suffer being pinned back and dominated with no hope of getting forward.

We managed to score 2 goals from those dozen shots there as well, imagine what we could do if we hit 12 shots in the one game :86:

Get what you are saying, but if we pushed that far forward and opened ourselves up, just think How much they would score ha.

Think we need to be a bit more attack minded, while also having the great team work we did in the 2-1 win. Roberts Griffiths and Sinclair with a strong midfield three to support and soak up their pressure.

Griff should definitely play vs Barca. We need a speedy striker whose clinical enough to finish his only chance. If we can spring him on a counter with Sinclair in support, I think we could nab one.
