Nah I don't care really how unpopular an opinion it is, the folk saying he's not clinical enough are spot on.

He just doesn't have it at European level, for example Hooper would have got a hat trick tonight without question with the chances Griffiths missed, that's the difference between the pair of them.

Griffiths has a ceiling, that ceiling is League 1 England/SPFL, he ain't good enough I honestly feel be it EPL/English Championship/Internationally. When the level gets higher and the pressure goes up he fluffs his lines far too often.

He needs 4/5/6 chances a game to bag a goal, the difference with someone like Hooper is they only need 1/2 and more often than not bag it.

It's the same reason he misses soo many penalties, it's a mentality thing with him unable to handle pressure. Look at his FKs for us, still hasn't scored one when he's proved he's decent at them in the past for Hibs, again it comes down to pressure and him given too much time to think. One v Ones it's absolutely criminal the amount of chances he squanders, we can't have that and this is why I just don't see us making the Groups this year as we don't have clinical enough strikers. ANY chances like that against Astana and it simply HAS to be a goal, we need to be ruthless now there's £20M at stake and if that means bringing in a top striker for the next set of qualifiers no matter how unpopular it is then so be it.

On another note Dembele needs to get his act together as well. Domestically I think the pair of them will be alright but in Europe I'm far, far from convinced at all.

    Wanyama.

You haven't shut up on here for weeks, nowhere to be seen today. First post on the game tonight is to criticise.

Who are you trying to kid Finny?

The point your missing is that it has been years since we have had a player like Griffiths who is such a live wire and gets these chances through his movement, workrate or individul skill.
Instead of celebrating the fact that we have a 40 goal a season striker (who yes does miss his share in chances) at least he regularly makes them. Especially given the past few seasons where we havnt had the luxury of such a striker. What he comes short on in chances missed, he makes up for in his attitude, movement, work rate and perseverence. He clearly knows how to play football and how to link up with those around him. Furthermore, in a team devoid of freekick takers, he is one of the few who can really test the keeper from range (granted tonight he hit a wild one).

The reason I asked particularly what you expect of him is precisely because we havnt exactly been overwhelmed with quality strikers of late. So if he put away a couple more one on ones than he does,, you would be satisfied? Id say Griffiths is easily the best we have had since Hooper. Do you realistically think we can sign better right now? dont you think if we believed we could, that we would have?

Your completely wrong, its nothing to do with playing in Scotland. he gets away with it because of the amount he puts away and all the other positives that he brings to the team.

He was so badly isolated in many games under Deila, playing as a lone striker and badlly lacked any quality service. The guy is a out and out proven goalscorer who is at Celtic on individual merit. If your suggesting that Griffiths was the weak link on these games, id say you need your head checked. He is one of the first on the team sheet.

He remains our most important player. I shudder at the thought of going into the next round without him.

Forget about misses when we were coasting against Red Gimps.

Griffiths is our best attacking players and biggest goal threat by far. Is he flawed? Of course. But so is everyone else in our team.

We're lucky to have the guy, last season could well have been disasterous without him. *, even now a long term injury to him would be devastating for the team.

I'm never done saying the same thing. If Griffiths had top drawer hold up play and linking with midfielders he wouldn't be here. He's here because he good at some things and not as good at others.

If he can strike up a partnership with Dembele where the big man is the one to drop deep and link the midfield, or to head it on for Griffiths to latch on to, then it could be a very fruitful time for the both of them.

Quietly optimistic on this blossoming strike pair.

This. Without his goals, or without him in the team, would we have won the league?

We paid around £1m for a player who has scored better than a goal every two games for us, and also neary every other club he has played for.

Mouth breather. Nasally *, can't remember his name.

Said he done nothing at Wolves and had to come back to Scotland to score goals. Clueless idiot, inept at his job. All he had to do was use Google.

    * are you all about man?

You like the forum police officer on here or something?

I don't rate guys like Griffiths or Brown that highly. Ffs it may be unpopular but it's my opinion I just don't feel confidence in them doing the business for us in Europe. That's a perfectly fine opinion to have, how does that not make you a Celtic fan? Do you to say everything is brilliant and not criticise anyone? What is you problem? I've gave lots praise on here before you'll see that through my posts but we have a MASSIVE qualifier next week and the Quality is going to be amplified massively and I just don't trust guys like Griffiths and Brown to see us through it, why is that soo wrong?

Griff can miss as many * chances as he likes...end off....40 goals a season gives him the right.
people are always having a go at the guy...he gets goals....but....he done well....but......look at some of the * we have had up front since larsson left.
Larsson-----hooper------griff.....think of all the crap we have had inbetween those three and count youre lucky stars we have a guy who scores for fun and actually is not looking for the exit door ever * summer.
if anything happens to him you will soon be wishing he was out there missing chances again.
