    Without doubt :54:

I don't think he really broke into the team fully for a year or two as well.

Ach * it, he's a *. One player that really did frighten me when he was at his best for them :31::31::31:

It was when we moved to 4-4-2 in 2003/04 that Lovenkrands never kicked a ball again. His peak was like 2001-2003.

I think we went unbeaten against them from 2003 until 2005. Actually was March 2003 until November 2004, we won every game against them.

Agreed, mate. I really hated seeing his name on their team sheet until Didier started doing whatever it was he done.

From 2003 until 2007 they only beat us 5 times and we beat them 13 times:56: they must have felt shocking during those 4 years.

Lovenkrands last goal against us was that Cup final goal, in the lead up to that he had scored 5 goals in 10 games against us, that made it 6 in 11. He played against us 11 times after that and never scored again.

    Interesting.

I definitely remember a time against us where he genuinely looked like he could have been world class.

Great to know it was just an exceptional purple patch :icon_mrgreen:

Aye he was with them 17 month before he scored against us, then he got those 6 goals against us in a 15 month period, then never scored again in his remaining 38 month spell.

He benefitted because his pace getting in behind Agathe but once we moved to 4-4-2 he didnt have the dribbling ability to beat a guy so probably barely got near the goal again to have the chance of scoring.

I knew he went silent. I am sure it's because we put Agathe on him.

Its a good sign of a forum, when certain posters who don't agree with the
comments of another , resort to name calling and abuse .
    Very * .

What do you expect when you come on here denigrating one of our greatest managers, calling him a cheat etc...?

Even if I knew something like that was true about a Celtic great I wouldn't be plastering it all over a * public forum.

You made your bed and now it's all covered in *.

I don't agree or disagree with you as I don't have a clue what you're talking about in most of your posts. O'Neil cheated in school or something?

Just as random and confusing as this gif.

My point is how did he do all that? By having the 2nd best EVER Celtic player in his team, and a whole bunch of other top draw European class guys on 30k a week plus.

I'm saying over rated because give Lennon or Strachan the budget and players that MON had and they would so just the same or better - Strachan did better in the Champions League with much less money and mostly over the hill players.

Strachan spent more than Martin and qualified for the last 16 with less points than Martin amassed.

Not taking away from WGS achievements but a bit of perspective is needed here.

Also, the argument that Martin spent a ton of money, so was the rest of the league at the time, Dundee had players like Cannigia and Ravanelli ffs.

Aye, I think people forget that the league was actually quite decent back then. Its became the norm to look at our league as a 'pub league' and apply that throughout history but thats not the case.

The late 90's/early 2000's were quite decent, infact one of those years the league was ranked 7th best in Europe! Clubs like Hibs and Dundee had quite decent players - the South American contingency at Dundee were really unlucky but a cracking wee team.

MON faced a much harder test in the league than what WGS and Lennon have had to.

And you think O'Neill's tactics and pairing him with Sutton had absolutely NOTHING to do with Larsson moving on to a different stratosphere as a player in any shape or form?
