Mr TAN and Cardiff City

Discussion in 'World Football' started by faw cough, Dec 29, 2013.

  1. I can honestly say the strips and badge wouldnt bother me, when he leaves they can be changed back and its not like strips and badges havent changed before, most clubs strips and badges have changed over the years.

It wouldnt be as bad as renaming the team or the stadium, if you have a histroical stadium it would be bad to change it to some stupid name and the club names shouldnt be changed because theres no reason to ever do that.

Ideally youd have none of it but could be worse like if he renamed the stadium Mr Tan Arena and the Club the Cardiff Bears or something.

Medel is a good player, js:smiley-laughing002:

  4. Aye, Hull Tigers they sound more like a Rugby team. No clubs should ever change their name like that, it'll be shocking if their fans allow that.

Medel is no 10 million pound player thats for sure, i had to check when i found out he cost 11M.

  6. He is good though but aye definetly not worth that. Similar player to Kayal for me, for us I wouldnt pay any more than £4million for him, even then I wouldnt want to pay £4million.

Medel for me is easily an 8-10million pound player. First choice international in his team, for a very good nation and very good at what he does. His best games have been against the top teams and Swansea as he knows his job and goes about it well

  8. Aye in English Premier terms he is probably a £8million player. So not that much over the odds really.

To us though if we were buying an £11million player we'd be thinking higher than him, or 2/3 quality players.

  9. Lets be honest, many fans of all clubs would sell their granny for more 'investment'.

So blinded by £££ its unreal. Mind the original Cardiff protests, small protest group turned on by the 'support/club' called 'not real fans' etc.

Cant argue with that, prices in the EPL are way over the odds. £10m for a player only to have proven himself in the Danish league (Cornelius) is a joke, the fact that he doesn't even start says it all

Never knew about most of this. I never really thought about the 'glory hunters' in the stadium - of course they aren't going to make a fuss (similar to some of our fans).

I was reading this article - I thought it explained quite a bit about the mentality of the Cardiff fans.

Mental signing that. The reason why I think Tan might have been raging, it was a signing without thought, throwing money at anything.

His pay rise aswell: 6k a week to 45k a week! Who sanctions that at Cardiff?

I'd say "The Pitbull" has been one of the better signings this year in the EPL. He has been hugely important to Cardiff this season, and the results without him are poor, such as the 3 x 0 lose at home to Southampton so how well he has done in his defensive, anchoring role in the midfield.

He is good at bring that combative quality that is so important in England. I expect him to move on the better things in a few years.

He looks just like a stereotypical oriential villain from a James Bond or Indiana Jones movie. I also think Celtic fans should be grateful for our board and owner when looking at total numpties like Tan. You may hate Lawwell but clearly, it could be a * of a lot worse.

    * the last four if it meant changing our hoops. Or colours

    * Cardiff anyway,nobodies

  17. I wonder how many Celtic fans would be happy if a money man came into Celtic and wanted to change the whole look of the club, the Crest and the strip while pumping cash into the club to get us successful in Europe. I understand a lot of clubs maybe alter their badge/strips slightly, but Cardiff's badge and strip hasn't been slightly altered...they have completely changed colours and design. Badge from blue birds to a red dragon and the strips from blue to red also. Pumping money into a club to be successful is one thing (like Chelski), but to completely change the club's identity is another whole aspect.

I feel that Cardiff fans have basically let this nutter change everything about their club and they have just seemingly stood by and watched it happen just so they could get to the Premiership. We'll see how many react if/when they are relegated back down into the Championship.

    His reportedly latest idea -

This Vincent Tan guy seems to be like the Malaysian version of Mad Vlad.

  18. I saw Cardiff play at Leicester last season, think it was in December, Cardiff had a big away support and remember at the time being really shocked by how many were wearing red despite all the adverse publicity this issue was given.

Appears more than enough were more than willing to lie back and take it up the * for Tan and his 'Project'

They had a chance to stamp this red * out in the beginning and decided to buy into it, well too many of them in any case.

  19. How does he manage to wear his troosers so high up his waist, I attempted it the other day after MOTD and failed miserably :smiley-laughing002:
