The bottom line is it was not breaking the rules if it was football related which you can tell by the manner of the banner it was, as it was clearly in protest of the act. "The terrorist or the dreamer, the savage or the brave, depends whose vote you're trying to catch or whose face you're trying to save''. Was pointing out the hypocrisy in the ridiculous act which has made so many peoples lives a living * since it was first implemented.

Yes Markybhoy and I will admit to having been sarcastic this morning when i posted that :52: although it was either ignored or not noticed. I will likely get it now though :smiley-laughing002:
However I have been surprised, as even now if the undecided's all changed to YES it would be very close. When as I said, I expected to be in a very small minority , on here only. So how people think the majority of Celtic fans want Pete the board sacked, I have no idea, as the people I have talked with in the real world are pretty much in agreement with the board. So I am not so sure if there is a massive divide at all. Tomorrow will be interesting.

And this act you speak of? Created by a political party. And Sands? A politician.

The club could have argued the case all they wanted, it wouldn't have made any difference.

Do a better job? Is that the best you can come up with in his defence? How do you know he is the best man for the job, do you frequently scout other potential CE's? The fact of the matter is he is our Chief Executive therefore the fans are what keeps him in his 700K a year job, so they have every right to criticise him if we believe he isn't doing his job to our satisfaction.

I think the only thing the poll proves is the support is split ( which I dont think is any great surprise to anyone.) Re the real world thing with the greatest respect both sides have used this many times in this thread and others. For everybody that says all my mates support Lawell there is someone who says well all my mates are against Lawell. So I don't think that really proves anything tbf.

There was a question asked and I answered it.
Well I would have thought if people protest about something and do it in sufficient numbers and often enough ...
Glasgow is a good place to protest, although as the parliament building is in Edinburgh maybe it would be better there.
Aye by protesting on a CL night, it has raised awareness of the situation here in Scotland of this pathetic bill. And I am sure the raised awareness among the countries/clubs that have seen the banner, will all be getting in touch with the SNP to register their disgust at it , quiet how that will benefit us no idea though.

This act I speak of? You say that as if it's the first you are hearing of it, obviously it means nothing to you that fellow Celtic fans have had their lives effectively ruined in spite of it, even after being found not guilty in court, by then their work had heard about it so lost their careers over this. Potentially their families.

You don't know what would have happened if the club tried to put up a proper defence, so don't pretend you do.

Obviously nothing, so stop talking nonsense. The topic at hand is whether this banner can be considered political, which I believe it can.

And neither do you. I'm simply stating my opinion, which is that it wouldn't take much to consider the banner as a political statement.

You got catty and smug answers because it had already been done.

I have about 10 replies from MSP's in my inbox.

That was the Christine Graham, the person who said the bill was to "even things up".

    Ok Mr Referee :bbpd:
You are right regarding the "all my mates" I used it as I have read it from both here :52:
I stand by me saying that I expected to be in the minority on here though. Although maybe I should pay attention to the poster, rather that just whats posted , if that makes sense mate.

What were their responses, out of interest?

Whenever I have communicated with my M.P I have got back a letter full of boilerplate that feels like a standard response. Have any of those you have written to actually engaged with the points you've made?

Nah all pretty much standard fare.

Labour and the tories agreeing with me and the SNP defending the bill, funnily enough.

Been done in the past hundreds of times MSPs just ignore you.

Indeed, folks emailing Christine Graham got told their issues where not important.

Club have actually come out and said there against OBAF act...other than that have they actually done anything about?

Amazing the amount of credit Lawwell gets for sticking to a plan implemented by Brian Quinn many years ago.

Yeah. Writing letters to parliamentary representatives is a road to nowhere in terms of activism unfortunately.

So it was easier to just give up I would assume if people keep hammering away at it. I am not having a go at you Sean.
As far as I am aware, IF a petition reaches 100,000 signatures at westminster they have to debate it, now if that is true in england, I would think as we have a smaller country the amount would be smaller.

Well her inbox should be filled failing that, is there not an email address for the parliament only.

You are the one talking nonsense as I am led to believe you didn't even know what the banner stood for from the offset. Although it could be considered political depending on what side you are on, it could also very easily be considered football related which it in fact was, I fully believe the GB thought this would not have been punished like they have said and I am still wondering why it has been.

Lawwell on it, "Last night was nothing more than clear disrespect for the club and our supporters, who now face another Uefa charge," Lawwell said. Why does he not say that to the Strathclyde Police who show nothing but disrespect for 111 and their families?

    * brilliant CE, as long as we are financially stable you will get another pay rise Lawwell.
