Well, taking into account the 20+ game CL winless streak (only snapped in Lisbon), one could say that Spartak don't tend to win at home. :)

They actually played some decent football (in patches) in last season's CL but very suspect at the back. All guns blazing in Lisbon though got Spartak through. An improvement on the goalkeeping front this season, even though Pletikosa has done a couple of ridiculous things since coming in. Defence never been the same since Vidic was sold to the Mancs.

Tough draw but they will be more scared of us than we are of them I reckon. No fear!

Greetings guys. At you still plays Irgy? We remember it on performances for цска. Whence such confidence of the victory? You probably have forgotten, that in the last draw spartac has almost left group. And in group there were such clubs as bavaria and inter.

It wasn't really that close, was it? Though a decent home performance against Bayern. But in Munich Spartak were completely stuffed.

Just been checking out the Spartak Moscow website, which is, impressively, available in English.

Recent form is obviously quite good, wonder how much of that is due to the pitch?

On checking out the squad, doesn't seem to be too foreigner laden like alot of the Russian teams. Couple of obligatory Brazilians, but none I've heard of.

    Thankgod,some rational.

I think people forget we are the established European club here!

When did this mob last get to a european final, beat Barcelona,Man Utd take the eventual winners all the way through 120 minutes?

There is a reason we are the seeded team,it's because we are teachers. These guys don't even amount to an apprentice.

And Boruc will be ready, the Poles have some real beef with the ruskies.Jarosik and our Polish contigent will make it personel
