They had a poll similar to this on Hun Media and 90% agreed with politics in football. Only 67% on this poll. Dark days indeed.

Turns out I have seen it after all:smiley-laughing002:

To be honest, I'm with the club on this. Would rather not see banners like that, I just don't see what it has to do with football.

Would you even call them having politics? The question for 'them' is more like the question is should Sectarian bigotry be allowed in football.

Celtic fans are the club, the club is involved in the game of football, Celtic fans are being harrassed and arrested for singing songs, ergo the banner had everything to with football.

I just * hate politics, particularly when they get mixed in with football.

Sing Celtic songs, not political songs.

The problem I have with Lawwell's statement is, he went full throttle in his condemnation of the banner and the fans involved, when it would maybe have been wise to, not so much sit on the fence, but at least offer an ounce of support for supporters (Republican) who have been there long before he has, and will be there long after he is gone.

For possibly the first time, I am disappointed in his actions.

They are Celtic songs. They have been sung by the club for generations.

    Our 'Celtic songs' are political.

Let the people sing, The Fields etc

'Against the famine and the crown'

'Let the people sing their stories and their songs and the music of their native land'

I for one am not that into the political side of things but I think those that are, such as the Green brigade have every right to voice their opinion and bring politics into football.

Now as much as ever given that the actions of politicians have a direct impact on many fans such as the GB.

I would sooner lose PL than the GB and its not even close. Money men will come and go, the GB are an absolute credit to the club and will not be easily replaced.
