Thoroughly the game last night....atmosphere was great and the team played pretty well....got the win we needed and although they had some moments where my heart was in my mouth....I wasn't impressed by them at all.

First time I've seen us win in a CL game....I was on the verge of being banned from going because I was a jinx.

EDIT: Also was great to meet Doire Bhoy, he very kindly tried to bring me a bottle over as a surprise and it was confiscated at Dublin.....I really appreciated the thought :celt_2: x

All this rubbish about not wanting certain away supports back in Glasgow is crap imo. Give me a support that adds to the atmo before/during/after the game any time instead of the celtic/a.n.other? family, luv-in pish.

I've said this before and I'll say it again....we are not phased by teams who play possession football....it's the teams who are good on the counter attack that we struggle against like Juve

Exactly. We struggle when teams play us at our own game.

There's a stream and download links for the game in the Match Downloads thread :50:

Thought we played well but Pukki was pretty anonymous. He's obviously desperate to score goals but he should just try and focus on his link up play for the moment I feel.

Imagine a year ago, thinking this time next year we will beat Ajax without Wilson, Matthews, Brown, Wanyama, Ledley, Commons and Hooper :56: * would have never imagined it.

Ledley made an appearance last night but I see your point.

I'm desperate to see how well we can do in Europe one season without any major injuries. People forget that we also beat Barcelona last year without Brown and Hooper.

Just imagine we had Commons, Matthews and Brown available last night, with Ledley also fully fit. We could have put 3 or 4 by them. Ajax were pretty average for most of the night.

We played the home game against Benfica too last season without Ledley, Samaras and Hooper - we would have gubbed them I think if those 3 were playing.

    Thats a pretty fair point.
Personally still on a high after last nights performance and result. Credit to everyone with all the players we had out going into the game I was worried I must admit. But the crowd were brilliant from the pre game show and throughout the whole game. I thought we defended very well once again Forster coming up with some big saves and Van Dijk and Ambrose one mistake apart were very good as were Lustig and Izzy. I have seen a few people being very critical of Lustig being subed. But it looked to me he was feeling his injury as he went off and I am guessing that the feeling from the get go was that he would go as long as he could but he was never going to last the 90.
Some flashes of Forrest at his best was great to see and how about Beram Kayal. Man of the match for me.
The only real criticism I would have would be for Amido Balde when he came on for the closing stages. In the couple of minutes before they scored in injury time I was watching all the Celtic midfielders and Stokes working their socks off and then I would see Balde and he would make a token effort to close a player down. As the move was developing for their goal Balde could have closed their scorer down but made no attempt. I know it is a very small point but Balde is going to have to learn he needs to work harder for the team. Stokes for instance may not have had as much of an influence attacking wise as he would have wanted last night but he worked his socks off for the team.

On an aside I got a good laugh when they showed Hooper flanked by Matthews and Commons in the stand. Commons looked like he was yapping Hoopers ear off. Sad though seeing Hooper up there in the stand. I always felt his move to Norwich was a mistake career wise for him and last night probably emphasized that.

That's me just back at home in the last half hour. Proud of the way we played last night and deserved the win. Hostile atmosphere inside made it even more pleasing too..
