Who is extremely highly rated, we need to be wary of him in the return leg, as that can't be the norm for him. However, Lustig absolutely schooled him last night and he sornt much of his last half hour on the pitch trying to stay as far away from him as possible.

Also left his left back horribly exposed against Forrest.

i really surprised at how bad ajax were ,we didnt play at all well and still had a comfortable victory .i dont think i have ever been as impressed with our back four and keeper than i am right now ,its a * shame we sold hooper and wanyama i have no doubt we would be sitting with a lot more points with them in the team.we badly need a new striker
but * it beat these * in holland ,and barca get the finger out we can look foward to knocking thoes diving milan * out and in into the last 16 with a game to go

Good to see Hooper at the game last night. Jamie Carragher and Steve Bruce also.

I do agree with your first point.

We played well and to our strengths, but yes, we did get a few lucky breaks. Ajax had a few chances to punish us.

I don't think you could say Poulsen should have done better but we got a break there, or when Serero got clean through and Forster again made a excellent save. That chance was like a penalty, you get great keepers that can save them but it's almost always the strikers fault in part, as he really should score.

    Or Kayal's goal...

We played to our strengths and continue to improve. I don't think there is anything wrong or self-depreciating about saying we got lucky a few times.

Have to agree. They had a few clear cut chances they missed the target that could easily have went in and it looked like our midfield was non existent in the first half at times, probably due to pressing them so high up when they were passing it about their defence right enough.

Luck was on our side, for a change. Hopefully it's the same in the away leg and against Milan.

Really missing a threat at corners this season, and Hooper.

Ajax were absolutely *. We were nowhere near our best and we still beat easy enough. Lenny knows how to set his teams up away from home, I am very confident of getting a result over there

I don't think I've ever seen an opposition goalkeeper have so many touches of the ball than the Ajax's keeper last night

Agree 100% Luck was involved no doubt about it. But we deserve a bit of luck after the first two games and we played decent without being to great.

"Ajax is a walker along an expensive shopping street, giving a longing look at all the pomp and circumstance, but who almost never takes a gift home.''

"Are Celtic so special? Of course not. They have a moderate squad, with injured and suspended players, and with great singing and a screaming fan base.''

"You would wish for the fans they had a better team."

Good performance last night expecially considering we were missing our captain and arguably our most creative player.

Van Dijk and Izzy stood out a mile for me, they were unbelievable.

Forster, I know he made a couple of good saves but he has to come off his line more, he has to. The one where Kayal made that unbelievable tackle when one of their guys was through on goal and rightly went mad at Forster who could have prevented Kayal making a last ditch tackle as last man. Couple of crosses he should have had as well. His shot stopping has never been in question but he seems to be getting even worse in and around his box and I'm really going off him.

Also the Ajax fans were *, don't care if people think I'm generalising or whatever but before and during the game they behaved like Huns and I hope they never come back to Glasgow.

Hate stuff like that last comment.

We've got a good young team who would run through a brick wall on CL nights. I don't think they would capitulate against anyone. We could always have better players but as long as they play with the determination shown last night, that's good enough for me.

hahaha Ajax are crying their eyes out. They just weren't good enough to get a result, end of. They'll be out of Europe before Christmas, how embarrassing for a team who used to be a major player in European football.

You'd wish for their fans that they had an even more * team.
