First time I've been on since the game, few quick thoughts:

Great result for us obviously, was a little strange how subdued the atmosphere was in the second half at times though, especially when we went up 2-0. You couldn't hear the Ajax fans on TV in the second half but you couldn't hear much from our supporters either, just thought it was a little odd.

I did get a chuckle when our fans were winding them up with 'Can you hear the Ajax sing?' though and also the full stadium Huddle in response to them trying to outsing us, must have * their many ultras groups off quite a bit :smiley-laughing002:

Onwards and upwards from here hopefully, a win against Ajax over there and then a win at home to Milan would put us on 9 points and we also have to hope that Barcelona win their next two games, just for that added security. They should beat Milan at the Nou Camp in two weeks.

I only watch it about 10 times a year to see Beach Soccer in the Summer around July.

I personally think that Celtic should start doing to other clubs' fans what they do to us in European competition and just put them up in a little corner of the stadium, where they can be neither seen nor heard.

Imagine if Celtic supporters were given such a presence in Amsterdam Arena, for example. We would show those * a thing or two about atmosphere. They were fairly loud at the start when they were getting forward and we were on the back foot, but the GB and the surrounding sections effectively sang right over them a few times on their own.

Couldn't hear a thing from the away support in the second half.

The away fans are in THE best section (for us) .......

Aren't they already in a little corner of the stadium? There's nowhere else we can put them. It's only in stadiums like the nou camp, when the away fans are up in the clouds, that it matters where the away fans are.

Over the moon with tonight's result and performance. Brilliant atmosphere from start to finish. Possession wise we did have less but that statistic matters not one iota. History books will show us having won the game and that is the only one that counts.

We deserved the win with every player fighting tooth and nail for everything. Ajax are no mugs and maybe could have taken the lead with the smack off the post. We defended well when we had to and obviously scored the goals which gave us the win. Truth be told we could have scored a couple more.

It'd be hard to pick a MOM but for me it has to be either Van Dijk for yet another superb all round performance or Kayal for his endless running and efforts, and showing us the Kayal we have been missing. Forster pulled off a couple of excellent saves especially when one on one which have become the norm now.

The penalty delay was nerve wracking and I for one never expected young Forrest to be the taker. He remained calm and apparently had told Lenny before the game he's never missed a penalty and would step up to take any.

All to play for now and with a wee bit of luck our run in Europe will be continuing after Xmas.

It was also good to meet up with a few TC members once again namely gasrex, rickythescot & his lovely wife Lucy. Marie and Jacquie together with Jacquies Ma who was determined to try and get a seat in the dugout. :smiley-laughing002:. Finally also great to meet Doire Bhoy for the first time who made the trip over from Norway via Dublin yet failed miserably to smuggle a bottle of Akevitt past customs.

Only real downside was seeing the Ajax hooligans attempts to attack the family section and to hear of other trouble before and after the match throughout the city.

Reducing their allocation for a start, when you know that a certain group of fans are going to be more vocal and have a bit more influence on the match. Or putting them all in the top tier, but then of course, you run the risk of them spitting on the opposition fans below them.

I'm prepared to bet that our fans will not be sitting in seats that can be seen on the Sky cameras though, in the return game in two weeks. Ajax will probably stick us up in the top tier, in an attempt to keep us out of sight and to lessen our influence on the game.

Personaly i hate the nice fans and the daft celtic fan luv-ins, i much prefer a game when the other fans have an edge to them, the way its supposed to be. Football is rivalry and you need that edge.:50:

I'm pretty sure there's a minimum allocation that has to be given, 5% of the stadium capacity, there were roughly 3000 ajax fans so that adds up. We couldn't have given them any less.

Yeah you can't beat a hostile atmosphere.

I didn't feel Barcelona was too nicey nicey, for 90 minutes I couldn't stand the sight of them. Even though I'd say we have lot of respect for one and other.

i was at the chelsea "friendly" at stamford bridge in 2006 an they put us in the bottom tier, think everything but the kitchen sink got launched at us, so dont put animalistic fans like that in the top tier at parkhead!

Yip you need a bit of hostility at th football, you dont see many celtic fans having a pint with Ajax fans, but you do see them mixing and talking to Barca fans.
For me its tribal, thats what creates a good atmo and thats been badly missing at most football grounds for years now, i would rather we played teams like Ajax and had their support than the boring fare we have got used to over the years.
