Who is your favourite player?

I was never one of them!
I like Van Dijk as a bloke though as well, he seems humble and pretty intelligent.
Commons would be up there but he's quite hard to like lol, he's pretty arrogant which is great on the pitch but I don't think you'd want to spend a night out with him.

I really like big Van Dijk aswell, he's looking a right class act.

 

Stokes for me.. I used to love Kayal but he's not been at his best for ages.

It's weird to think if Kayal hadn't had so many injuries and Izaguirre hadn't had that broken leg injury that both those two players would of been right at the top for many.

As it is, niether player even have a single vote.

It could be worse though, we could have EPL fans where playing literally one game means you are now the next big thing or world class. As evidenced by some nobody who played for United at the weekend.

I love Matthews, but van Dijk is slowly becoming my favourite.

You have Van Dijk as your second favourite player after a couple of good performances and you wonder why Sammy is so popular?

 

Yes, precisely.

Van Dijk so far has looked, dare I say it, top class. He has been solid.

Whereas Sammy is still majorly inconsistent. I know he tends to score in big games, which is no doubt why many have him as their favourite, but it just surprised me.

 

Van Dijk has looked ropey in a couple of games and amazing in a couple, can't get any more inconsistent that that. :smiley-laughing002:

 

Just choose Izzy but I haven't moved on from Hooper leaving yet.

 

Have a tendency to vote for defenders, as that`s the area I watch most when at games.

Van Dijik is great to watch, solid defensively and nothing better than seeing him stride forward with the ball. This is good for us, as teams like to sit behind the ball and often neglect our centre-halfs when on the ball. He`s a key player in our side and is due a goal, especially as I stick a whole £1 on him for 1st goalscorer.

Lustig and Matthews have brought a solid look to our right side of the park and present good competition for each other.

Sammy(the Pantene Provo), what a weapon he is for us. See`s much more of the game than he gets credit for. I like him and others don`t; that won`t change.

Forrest is another I like and can bring more to his improve his game. When he gets running at the defenders, gets me on my feet. Unfortunately he has stopped doing this as often as he did.

I think we have a right good team and eventually when it all clicks together(including the introduction of Pukki and Boerrigter in attack); teams will be in for a right pumping.

 

love big fraser probably cause Im a goalie myself but

He is meant to be one of the hardest workers at training and he is not perfect and does make mistakes but always works at it and does come up with the goods on big occasions as you seen the other night

 

Samaras easy

 

Taken an instant shine to Virgil. Not had a CB as my favourite player since Marc Reiper.

 

The only time I think he has looked "ropey" was in the second half against Karagandy in Kazakhstan. And that was his first European game, plus he was just back from injury if memory serves me right.

Other than that, he has been a contender for MOTM in pretty much every game he has played.

 

Sammy has been contender for MOTM in countless games, including many games in the greatest competition of them all.

I can totally understand why people chose Van Dijk mate... do I think it's a bit soon for the hero worship? Sure. However I can't understand why you are surprised at the votes for Sammy when he has shown much more than VVD over a longer period of time.
