Played very well last night and think we deserved a point. This game gives me great confidence for the Ajax and Milan games. We can beat them at home.

    Sammy and Forster were outstanding.

We couldn't of had a better time to play AC with the amount of injuries and we didn't take the opportunity. Same with Barca when they don't have Messi they are half the team they usaully are, if he played last night I think it would have been a different story.

The next 3 games we could get 7/9 points, I think 2nd if very much on.

2nd is still definitely on. It will be a proper battle for that second spot. We could end up with last 16 football again or be completely out of Europe in the last game imo. Need at least 4 points from the Ajax games which is very do-able. Milan won`t take anything from Barca home or away

I watched that first 60 minutes and really felt we were going to get a draw...knew it was over the moment the red came out. Gutted. :54:

Not feeling a similar sense of optimism at all. If we fail to beat Ajax at CP we'll very likely finish last, Ajax are a solid side at home so getting anything in Amsterdam will be very tricky. AC beat Barca 2-0 at home last year so there's a fair chance they could get something. If AC win either game against Barca we can end any hopes of qualifying really. We're 33/1 to qualify for a reason, I'm almost focusing on 3rd now.

How many 4th seeds have lost their opening 2 games and still qualified? Infact how many teams in total? We're already 4 points behind a superior side and haven't scored a goal yet. Some people think beating Ajax & AC at home are a given, it wouldn't be at all surprising if we don't even pick up a win this campaign, though beating Ajax is more than achievable.

Still hoping for 3rd. We need a few miracles for the last 16, I'd rather be in the EL anyway.

That sums up my feelings, last night we were extremely unlucky - again.

The club simply won't spend though.

Yup. We knew it was going to come back to bite us on the *, and it did. I can't see where the goals are coming from us to defeat Ajax and Ac Milan. Our goals from set pieces seem to have dissapeared. Leading up to the champions league games we should be mastering set plays, that's our best chance against better teams.

completely agree, it is all done to the lack of goals I see in our side. We simply won't score the required goals. Only Samaras carried a threat last night and as brilliant as his effort was, he himself wasn't sure where he was going with it half the time.

I personally believe there was a lot of faffing around this summer, and various names were mentioned early on that we didn't get.

I don't think either of these guys are the guys that Lennon saw taking us through the Champions League group stages at all. If they were, he would have used Pukki last night and against Milan at least. I don't buy the whole "he hasn't bedded in yet" stuff either, as I previously mentioned.

I just don't believe that Lennon rates either Balde or Pukki higher than the forwards we have at present.

Thought Sammy had a very solid game. Unfortunately, his colleagues rarely 'showed' for him and he was left to run into blind-alleys.

Brown was playing very well too and was a typical pest... right up until his moment of madness. :54:

Pass marks also for our 2 CB's and Big Forster. I was very pleasantly surprised with all of them!

On the downside, it was a wee bit embarrassing watching seasoned pro's repeatedly panicking themselves to the point where they couldn't make a 10 yard pass. Lustig was especially guilty of this. Also gutted that Chuck couldn't convert with his header (to be fair, he looked more gutted than any of us in the post match interview).

Did we deserve anything from the game? 19% possession at home. Not able to make straightforward passes. Seasoned pro missing a sitter. Our captain having a moment of madness and being sent off. Probably not!

So all in all it may have been a horrible game to watch, but there were some reasons to be cheerful.

Thought the fans were incredible! :50:

I'm gonna go offtopic a bit and post something positive before you poke each other's eyes out.

I did see something great last night in green and white and here she is. :100:

BBC by any chance? I think they just used last years false stats again. On Sky it said we had 29%.
