    Martinez non-selection has been a big influence. Better defensively than Muller and handy at set-pieces.

    Styles run in cycles aswell.

    Tika-Taka is finished (for now), its just like how Catenaccio died with Inter after we beat them in 67 but then was resurrected years later.

    I'm guessing two teams from the same city have never played each other in the final? Would be awesome to see a derby in the CL Final.

    Aye, now that counter attacking, or defending a lot has really beaten creative possession football. The next tactic will probably be

    :celt_2:

    :celt_2: :celt_2: :celt_2: :celt_2:

    :celt_2::celt_2:

    :celt_2:

    :celt_2: :celt_2: :celt_2:

    With when attacking, the full-backs only coming to the half way line and the 2 sitting midfielders also staying in the half way line.

    That way that tactic would work against teams like Chelsea, Real Madrid, Atletico Mardid etc by not letting them defend as deep and close up the game as much as they do. Because by only really having 4 players attacking you dont scare or force the opposition to sit in as much as you do when playing like Bayern or Barca who usually surround the oppositions box with 7 players.

    The two players sitting in midfield too would stop those teams countering you as easily as well.

    Only thing is teams playing like that are the kind of teams who Barcelona used to pump and teams like Bayern would pump now but it is Barca and Bayern who need to revert to it to get back on top of the others and then the other teams will have to change their style to cope with the new style.

    I meant it was Boa who had him by the neck , was unsure if it was him or Dante at first .

    Pep's entire philosophy revoles around sucking the life and the fun out of the game. He doesn't want a match, he wants his team to utterly suffocate the opposition until they get tired and frustrated.
    It's basically no different to Mourinho frustrating teams into submission by little niggly fouls, diving, time-wasting, play acting and that.

    Barca were only really good to watch for about 18 months, and that was because of Messi playing at his peak as possibly the greatest ever player, and because their passing was ridiculously fast and accurate. In the last 2 years of Pep's time, and since he's been at Bayern, his teams have just been passing for the sake of it, it's not been quick, it's not been fun, and it's not been the beautiful game.

    This is also true. Every dog has its day. Bayern's day was curtailed short though by Pep. They were literally impossible to improve under Heynckes, their board bought into the Pep hype machine and have regressed.
