Don't think people shoudl be slating MLS. Having watched SPL football, I'd say that MLS teams are right on par with the SPL outside of the OF.

Having said that, Freddy is not the player to get from the US. While he still might become a good player, he'll need games to develop, and there are far too many attacking players atm for him to get any first team minutes. If there is a player to get from MLS it is young Chivas left back Jonathon Bornstein who shut down Lionel Messi in the recent USA-Arg Copa America game.

 

To say Freddy Adu is a rubbish player and would only be a benefit as he is american. Is both disrespectful to the boy himself as a player and also to his country. At 17 years of age he is not only a better prospect than aidan mgeady he is a bigger stronger faster and more potent threat than mgeady is at his current abbilities. And Adu will only improve and become stronger. This would be a great signing. And it would be terrific to have an american wonderkid in the hoops. Lets hope this happens.

hearts and hibs are better than mls quality teams dc celtic. thats 4 teams, thats nearly a whole division in mls

 

watch Freddy a the u20 worldcup, he has the skill and pace just needs to get in the right situation, that might be Celtic

 

I dont watch the MLS like I said previously. But a lot of US fans are saying they play ADU out of position in the MLS. He should be a CM not a wing.

 

I read it a couple of years ago that Man u and Barca had tabled a 1 millon bit for him when he was just 13 but he turned it down due to the fact that he was still young.

 

I always sign him in fOOtball manager, ever since the first championship manager he appeared in. he doesn't get a game really but his value goes sky high and you can get about 15m for him if you hold out a few years. Never kept him more than 3 i don't think.

I don't tihnk the American market is there for the taking. We should keep buying Australasians, they're an easier target (sounds bad eh). We need a few Chinese people in the next few years then we'll be laughing.

 

Im not too sure why Freddy Adu keeps popping up in the transfer rumours. He did look lively in that friendly against us last season I wouldnt mind getting a better look at him. Until we hear anything solid from Celtic I wouldnt get your hopes up at all

Freddy Adu had a hattrick today in the U20s against Poland.

Text commentary stated one of his goals were "world class" as soon as its up on youtube ill get it.

 

A hatrick well thats better than any of the under 20 scotland players did.

 

Im talking to people who saw the game. I should have it but my cable box is screwed up right now the company is coming out Thursday.

And they said all three of Freddy's goals were class. Ill wait to see.

I found a highlight of a few of Adu's goals in his hattrick today. Click on the TV thing on the far right. Then watch the commercial and click the one that saids Adu leads USA to victory.

His first goal is amazing. Does a spin in the far right of the box.. Then as he is falling down lets go of a shot that goes across the entire box curling in towards goal and hits the post and in.
