No doubt that Guardiola is a good manager but I also think Bayern were better with the aggressive style they had before he arrived.

I think bayern have improved since last season, guardiola has just taken them to a new level I think. Next season they'll be even better bringing in the world class striker they require.

It's hard to see who'll be able to beat them just now, Real Madrid seem to struggle against guardiola's teams, or teams that play a similar way. Barca would probably play straight into their hands. I think atletico could give them a really good go over two legs, I think bayern would find it tough to break them down.

Man United atmosphere was better than this tonight. I could hear singing here and there but not that much. Round about the 60th minute the commentator stopped talking and the stadium was silent - I thought the sound was broken but it was the actual noise from the stadium (or lack of noise).:56:

Mental. Maybe its the layout of the Bernebau, dunno.

Barca is the same though, I'm sure I heard that they go to the game almost to see a show and sit down and enjoy watching the game rather than create a great and intimidating atmosphere. Same as some teams in England, arsenal for example, the atmosphere is just non existent.

    Agreed.

I honestly don't know where I read it but the Spanish culture is not one of fans providing atmosphere but that of receiving entertainment or 'value for money'. They pay to be amused, so to speak. :smiley-laughing002

To be fair most teams in Britain have pretty poor atmospheres. Really its only the old Italian games, the Germans, The S. Americans and the Eastern Europeans that create atmosphere.

Yea it's just the mentality of the El Clasico clubs. They say how it's more like going to the theatre for their fans, or most of them. Obviously there are some good atmospheres, like in the games against each other, but usually they're utter pish.

For what it's worth, I don't think Utd's was that good the other night at all. Better than usual I suspect but that's not exactly hard.

I just read an article saying how Fellaini won 17% of his aerial duels last night. He's 6 foot 4 for * sake.....and he won 24% of his tackles.

He's * pathetic. You can hear the groans of the crowd when he * up now. Man Utd were * last night going forward. When Bayern's CBs had the ball, either Kroos or Schweinsteiger were always there to pick the ball up from them.

Utd's midfield probably did that like three times so it was just aimlessly punted upfield. Still expect Bayern to comfortably win the second leg but fair play to Utd for still being in it.

But I hope PSG win it still.

I'm never one to pick on players who are struggling but Fellaini looked totally out his depth. Could have done with Darren Fletcher's ability to keep the ball to be honest.

He was rank rotten the first half hour. I mind looking up the stats a few weeks ago as someone on here said Mulgrew couldnt play in the CL as he got the ball took off him all the time and disagreed and looked up the stats and Fellaini was the midfielder who got the ball took off him the most, averaging losing it over 6 times a game.

Must have went up after that Bayern game im sure I recall him getting it took off him 3/4 times within about 5 minutes at one point. :56:

Was 3 times a game he averages getting dispossesed. The 12th worst in the CL and worst in midfield, the 11 above him are all strikers and wingers and rest of the top 20 the same.

To be fair I think they deserved it on the nights performance. They started terribly but that first goal totally changed the game and they were the better side from there on. First time i've actually enjoyed a football game in a long while as well.

It was good drama tbf and they probably deserved it. PSG were disappointing imo, Cavani in particular. They were asking for what they got. They reminded me of Man City in the way they have a great squad with great players but they look out of their depth when in a high pressure big game like last night.

Dortmund were the more unlucky side. They deserved to go through. I don't know * Real were playing at last night, they were honking.

PSG actually started really well and Chelsea just looked like parking the bus. Howver, the first goal totally changed that - Cavani was a no show.

Cavani was very poor in the first game also. I'm sure the commentator said in the first game that he had not long got divorced, and his form had dipped since. He certainly never looked like the Cavani at Napoli over both ties.

In the final third PSG were non-existent. Knew the goal was coming, they just sat back after the first goal and invited pressure. Seemed to lose there shape as well in the final 20 minutes of the game.

Watched the Dortmund v Real game last night. Given that Dortmund had a several regulars out, they produce a really good performance. Give me Marco Reus over Gareth Bale every time.

Watched the PSG game earlier and what a disappointment they were. Had Ancelloti been in charge of PSG last night, I believe they would be in the next round. They looked very apprehensive and unsure whether to sit back or stick to the normal style.
