they should have added a tenner onto the price and included the Morton game in the package

That's not a bad idea. Hopefully anyone that didn't want to go to the game would have given it to someone else who maybe wouldn't have otherwise gone.

Its not that big a deal as long as you have a friend who has a season book. I'm sure there are plenty of guys who travel up from England and Ireland fairly often but will basically never have any chance of getting a ticket for our biggest games unless they buy a season book that they know they won't be able to use for a lot of the season.

Today was a shambles even besides the policy. There seems to be no proper que system on the phones and people were getting told there were no tickets left who had qued for a long time while others could buy tickets online a couple of hours after a statement from the club saying there were none left.

I got lucky but there surely has to be a better and fairer system than what we have. But then I bet some people may just buy season books to guarantee their seats even if they can't make the games every week. Which is no doubt exactly what the board are hoping for

It's very poorly organised. I'm a season ticket holder and had eight folk trying to get a package, which seemed possible since me and my dad are season ticket holders and we could get 4 extra packages each. Me and him were both on the phone and both on the Internet from 8:45 to 10:30 and not one of us got through, so it's not as if season ticket holders get everything we want. They should just put them on general sale. I'm quite happy getting priority plus a discount

I think one each would be fairer but unless they sort out the system this would only result in more pressure on a failing system.

Yeah that would be reasonable, but four for each season ticket holder is mental

That's them again trying to encourage people to buy season tickets, they won't change that.

You're missing the point. Why 4 ? If season ticket holders were offered one extra today they would have probably sold out. Offering season ticket holders so many is just a way of getting them sold as quick as possible but is actually meaning some season ticket holders get 3 extra and some get none. That is not rewarding all season ticket holders.

Im a season ticket holder and I was happy enough paying £85 for a ticket £30 cheaper than non season ticket holders. Thats reward enough. Its unfair I had the opportunity to buy 4extra. I did try but failed to get any.

I agree it is clear why the board have this policy, but it doesnt make it right.

When I started this thread I genuinely wasnt sure where I stood but the more I read the replies, the more unfair the system sounds to people in various circumstances. Fundamentally the system is based on only selling tickets to the only people who already have tickets for a game. And so within minutes of people getting them many are going on ebay for multiples of the original price.

You will always get ticket touts, but only selling tickets to people who you know already have their own is actively encouraging this. For unscrupulous season book holders, they can pretty much get a free season book each year by buying and selling their extra 4 books each year. This will not be lost on people who realise that they can effectively get a free season ticket, and it is good for the board if this means people buy more season tickets. But it is totally rotten.

The way celtic have done this is unfair, its becoming more like a closed shop a bit like the CSA buying tickets for their mates. Or to put it another way, fck you i'm ok and my mates are ok.

    Bit pishy tbh

I paid the £84 for myself & £60 for my son & was happy with that

It wouldn't bother me, if i didn't get the chance to buy more

I did give somebody my client code to get more, it was somebody who deserved to get a ticket. I did not just give my client code to somebody who has not been to a game all season or last season

Maybe there should be an option of keeping your ticket stubs for the previous season & that would put you next in line after season ticket holders

think season tkt holders should get 1st option but to offer up to 4 extra packages is a bit extreme. general sale 1st come 1st served is also a nightmare for people who go but don't have a season tkt . I have a season tkt and have my tkts but before there were so many season tkt holders it was down to the supporters associations and other outlets and it didn't matter if you went to every game you could still miss out when the big games came round. I travelled up and down the country on a supporters bus as a non member and they happily took my money until it came to the big games where their mates wanted a seat on the bus and a ticket to the game and I was kicked to the kerb always the old pals act going on.the general sale is a lottery that you might not get a ticket

I think it's fair that season ticket holders get discounts on their packages and they get access to them before the general public do, but I don't think it's fair that they get to buy extra packages for their friends and family, especially when some of these friends and family members probably have no real interest in supporting Celtic.

I live in England, so a season ticket is financially not viable, with fuel costs etc etc.but I seriously considered it the other week , just so I could get a 3 match package. Didn't in the end, but the club offering ST holders the chance to buy the rest excludes people like me , who can only make so many games ! Gutted I missed Pablo88 's offer as well, he has tried to get me tickets for a Rankers game a few years back !
