Still gutted :54: Why do we never ever get any form of luck away from home? Why can't we get a deflected goal or a dodgy penalty? Just never goes our way.

That's the first time in years we've went away to a European powerhouse and controlled the game for long spells, that shows progress in itself. I thought we were excellent and that's one of the most undeserving defeats we've had in a long time.

samaras wasnt too bad! he was well marked!!!
if there was a criticism of him it was that he was too static! at this level if your 1st job isn't working you have to change it up move around more to get yourself into the game

on the other side mathews had plenty of opportunities just his final ball was bad (defender with a nose bleed) hindsight is a wonderful thing but i wish we had just played derk from the start

always the difference will be when playing in the champions leauge will be the opposing teams usually will take their chances, got to say we need a hooper type player i'm sure he would have got an opportunity or 2 last night and would deffo have scored

wow what outstanding writing :50: you a journalist with the washington post :86:

i think it's a shame balde has had hardly any game time, as he was superb against liverpool but our crossing was so bad last night that a hooper style penalty box poacher would imo have been a better choice for the scraps but ofcourse we dont have that type of player anymore :31:

i wonder if we will play 442 this year with 2 center forwards against the champions league sides

Looking back, after sleeping on it, I feel we were very unlucky. But we did not take the chances we had in the game. I feel we have five Group games left and it is still all to play for. I hope that Rogic, Biton and Pukki can also be looked at for starting in Euro games. I think Rogic would be quite creative, but in fairness to Commons, he has done well for us. The Ajax games, I feel will be very important to win and hopefully we can still surprise a few people. Lets dust ourselves down and move on with hope.

After that performance I actually feel alot more optimistic than I did after our first game last year when we drew at home and created next to nothing.

I'm kinda in between. I feel like we created more than in our first game last season but also we failed to take any of them chances and I hope that isn't something that continues.

I'm also pretty gutted we failed to get anything out of a game against a really average Milan team. I can only see them getting better throughout the CL and that was a massive chance not only to gain some points but to make them drop some.

If we lose to Barca now and they beat Ajax we're already six points behind and will be struggling. Think it's put a lot of extra pressure on the Barca game that shouldn't really be the case because we should have got something from last night.

i was thinkin because we are always whilst playing ine the spl gonna be hamstrung by money and are always gonna be punching above our weight in these games

we need to get every ounce out of player

so i was thinking what it would be like for us have a clinical finisher and also a creative player ala wayne rooney
now we couldnt afford that kind of player

but commons is quitel clinical in the penalty area although he has no pace he is also an excellent am/ss

so what if we just play him up front but allow him freedom to come deep aslong as someone makes a run into the striker role

this way we also have room for another attacking central midfielder

this formation could be used mainly in away games but also the next game against barcelona where we will be lucky to have 40% of the ball

what do yous think guys ?

That's basically where he played second half last night and he wasn't far off it first half.

I actually think Commons gets found out a bit when playing against the top teams in Europe. I think he looks slightly out of his depth. I rate him highly for us a player as well, but I don't think he provides us with anywhere near the same amount in the Group Stages as he does domestically, or in Qualifiers for that matter. Some players can adapt to it, I think he struggles.

His decision making, when it comes to whether he should shoot or pass is poor at times. There were a few occasions last night when he should have kept the ball and looked for options, but he chose to shoot. Then when it sat up nicely on his left foot about 20 yards out, he opted to try and cut inside onto his right foot, and allowed Mexes to shield it back to Abbiati.

It's possible to qualify from this group with 6 or 7 points. If we all lose both games against Barca, Milan and Ajax can both finish on 12, we can finish on 9, so we need Ajax to stop Milan winning either game, then they can get 8 points and it really will come down to the games at Celtic Park and how we do in Amsterdam. If we take 6 or 7 points it should at least take us into the UEFA.

yeah but in my formation he would be the striker instead of stokes and maybe rogic will play in behind him

therefore we have added creativity in the team

I understand that this is still a learning curve, but I feel he holds onto it a bit long. In the SPL, he has the trickery to go by men, but I think Boerrigter would have been a better option last night.

Someone needs to have a word with him about shooting when it's not on though. The free kick in the opening minute was a horrible decision.

Waking up the morning after a CL loss is awful, depressing as *. * the ref and Balotelli

Milan's closing down was surprisingly non-existent. Lots of time on the ball and not enough creativity on the park to take advantage.

Someone like Rogic doesn't seem to cope well being closed down too quickly, but with the space he would've been given there would have been clearer goal scoring opportunities.

That being said I think that AC Milan can consider themselves VERY lucky.

That was a sore one to take bhoys.

Overall, I thought our play was terrific... a very mature performance and Broony was immense. My only gripe would be Sammy - he was an empty shirt last night.

Game was there for the taking, I wouldn't have taken a draw, I wanted the win but we've ended with a 2-0 defeat. Don't know if I take as many positives from the game as some people, it was a very weakened Milan side, the side that faces us in Glasgow will be much stronger and we didn't really look like causing Milan too much trouble. Commons was very indecisive at times, Broony should have bagged his chance and our crossing was particularly poor at times. On another night we could of had 4 or 5 had the final delivery been better.

Disappointing to come away with 0 points from last night.

Hmm, apart from that great run he went on, with his shot being our best effort of the night from open play.
