It's a fans forum so let's speculate anyway it won't do any harm.

It's all about class in the last third and tonight we didn't quite have it. Plenty of positives but would have preferred the subs a little earlier as the tide was turning with about 25 mins to go.

Exactly. We didn't have a single chance as good as that, bar possibly Stokes having a moment of brilliance.

We were brilliant I thought, did everything we could, but it just wasn't enough (especially when the break of the ball didn't fall our way). Xavi whiffed on a ball last year to an onrushing Watt, a deflection sends it past Forster today. It's heartbreaking, but it happens.

Fair enough but I just don't see the point. It'll just be unprovable one way or the other.

Never seen the original warning. The thread is moving so fast.

I posted a thread to try and stay away from the obvious madness in here but it got merged with this...

Very unlucky for first goal. Should of been alert for second, only Van D was switched on for it. I think Pukki and Big Derk should start next Champs League - need more in the final third. Hopefully see more of Biton or Joe L. for next Euro game. Scott Brown will have to keep his cool, he gave away the free for the second goal. The return game with Milan and the two Ajax games must be real targets for pts. Ajax shipping four goals in first game may be a factor later on for goal difference. AC Milan even with injuries are very poor, compared to the teams of the past.

Well said mate. There seems to be no perspective at all. * *, we shop in the bargain basement section and they spend and pay fortunes.

We've played a European style game and kept possession, created some chances, hit the bar and lost 2 ultra * flukey goals.

People should remember how far we've come under Lenny since the Utrecht fiasco. Not many teams will go to there and dominate like that.

Tonight are the nights that swans should be allowed to be punched....sheer anger and frustration at that.

Thought we were much more comfortable in Posession with Commons on the pitch. Think he had another ten minutes in him? Team needs to be more clinical - we seem to be second guessing our chances in the final third. Brown should know better aswell - otherwise a great performance by him.

We were the better team, we had the best of the play but at this level if you can't take your chances when they come your way, this is what you get.

We'll never learn our lesson, it's not the first hard luck story we've been apart of - in fact, I was saying after Stokes hit the bar I could already write tomorrow's headlines.

I'm sure the board won't give a * either cos getting here has made a mint. Don't expect them to be thinking if only we had a goal scorer.

After they got the second I started to worry how it would affect the team going to the Nou Camp after such a heartbreaking result.

But now that it's sunk in, I think it's the perfect match to play straight after this one. Especially after the similarity between the result tonight and the Nou Camp last season. (I mean obviously the heartbreak of the late goals, obviously not the way the respective matches shaped up.)

Everyone knows what we're up against now. Everyone (except Amido, who I don't suppose will see much game in time in the CL this season) has sampled the atmosphere.

I have faith that Lenny and the bhoys will be ready for the remaining fixtures. It's still very early doors in the tournament after all, and on that performance we should be very confident in many aspects of our attacking game.

That being said, * gutted. :54:

I'm going on the Super Lager. :60:

It was average. The Milan players read it much better than anybody in the SPL can do. Why can we talk about how great Efe and Virgil were but we can't give any credit to the opposition for the same thing?

That's the issue. We were unaccustomed to having so much possession, and looked lost at times. We should strive to get more experience with this. So far, we've learned to survive while being boxed in for 90 minutes. Now, we can try more. The goals we conceded though, were tragic. Especially the first.

I beg too differ, scott brown was blatantly elbowed in the face and ballitelli threw him self to the ground. It should have been a freekick to us, and ballatelli should have been off.
