The difference was the opposition, not the final ball. They basically sacrificed the right side to Matthews but the positioning of the two centerbacks was perfect. They basically gave him free range to cross whenever he wanted (or try to take on Constant with Mexes covering directly to goal, which he could never do) because they knew that Celtic wouldn't attack in numbers (which we didn't) or else they'd counter. It was always only about 2-3 in the box and they defended well every time. The quality is just incomparable to Hearts.

 

Harsh lesson was taught tonight but we'll bounce back that's for sure. Great effort from the players.

 

Completely agree. It was nothing but pure bad luck as the reason we lost. Possibly for their 2nd goal our defenders should have reacted quicker, but that is really all.

The team put in a * of a shift tonight and were extremely unlucky.

As sickening a result as I can remember. We did not deserve to lose and should have won on the balance of play.

 

Dissapointed than that. We didn't deserve to lose. At the same time we weren't the better team. I can't remember abiatti making a save all night. No where near clinical enough.
