Milan haven't been playing too great so hopefully the lads get stuck right into them and Stokes gets his well deserved chance, I would say 2-2, HH!
    Forster
    Lustig Virgil Ambrose Izzy

    Mulgrew
    Brown Ledley
    Matthews Sammy

Depends on how you define a speaker of Irish. 1.5-1.6 million claim to be able to speak Irish in the census (probably only know a few words) whereas about 80 000 would be classifiable as people who have Irish as their first language. A further 165-175 000 would be fluent speakers, although they have learnt it as a second language.

A figure of around 250-300 000 speakers would cover both native, daily speakers of Irish and those who are functionally fluent in the language but who do not necessarily have it as their first language.

    (Rough estimates from memory only.)

    Interesting :50:
I would have guessed a figure alot lower than that.
We never got teached Irish in primary school, which is when it should be learned.

if you were maltese and he said it, youd think it was an ignorant comment to make, which it is. But nevermind that anymore :50:

Strangely confident for this, normally feel ridiculously nervous already for a CL away tie.

Whilst I say I am confident i would be delighted with a draw on wednesday. Hopefully Forster repeats last seasons form if called upon, and ideally Samaras will start wide left with Stokes up front. Can see Samaras giving zaccardo a hard time, whilst stokes is the one man I feel confident about taking any chances that come his way. Excellent opportunity for us to take something on the road with the number of injuries Milan have. Going 2-1 celtic with van dijk and stokes scoring

As I said I wasn't exactly 100% serious when I said it. I was more meaning it as a "very few people speak it and it's a weird subject to converse about on a Celtic vs Milan thread" way. :50: But as you said, nevermind that now. What are you hoping the score will be? I'd be very happy to take a draw, but would of course love a win. :icon_mrgreen:

I feel that if we are to qualify for the next stage, it's Milan we'll have to get past, and as such I'm looking for us to take at least a point from this game.

It's early in their season, and I don't actually think they're the team they once were. I'll go for a 1-1 draw over there, and I think we can beat them at Celtic Park.

    No problem :icon_mrgreen:

    :56:Bring it on! :icon_mrgreen:

Meh... He was joking, plus most people wouldn't be able to point Malta out on a map so it's not so bad :icon_mrgreen:

    I would line up

    Foster

    Izzi
    Ambrose/mulgrew
    Virgil
    Mathews/lustig

    Brown
    Ledley

    Sammy
    Commons
    Derk

    Stokes.

I think Lennon may find this too attacking though and he'll play mulgrew in midfield, which begs the question whose he going to drop ? Probably one of Sammy , Commons or Derk.

Real tough one hope its not Sammy or Commons but Derk was brought in for games like this.

My Maltesers do not like the heat either. I just put them in the cupboard where it is quite cool.

Anyway, I really hope Celtic can get a result tomorrow. I think we need to go out there guns blazing, playing attacking football.

After Saturday, Stokes is a must start, although I am not sure how he will hold up against a better team.

Ledders more than likely out with a groin strain, has travelled but chances of playing are slim.

Mulgrew and Brown at centre mid then....

If Ledley is out then I would go with Brown & Mulgrew at CM, with Commons playing as an AM, with Sammy & Boerrigter out wide.

    Reckon it'll be that then.

That line-up should be good enough to get us a draw over there I reckon Devlin. Milan are a big name, but they're not all their cracked up to be I don't think.

Kaka's out injured already I see.

Am I right in thinking there's a few Milan fans on this forum just now? If so, can any of you answer a question for me?

Why have you never bought a decent goalkeeper? Every time I see you play you still have that big gonzo Abbiati in goals. He's 36 now, isn't he?

I rate Izaguirre, but not that highly. Some task in hand there.
