But surely the majority of fouls are committed to gain an advantage or to be more precise to disadvantage the opposing. If this were not the case then why else would a player foul and give away a free kick. The most obvious of these would be the last defender who fouls the striker thus receiving a yellow card. Should these offenders not all be outed as cheats.

I fail to see where you come to this conclusion. If you read my previous post you would have seen that I blame the officials for not punishing the players. I do not condone fouls but they are part of the game and the rules are there as a punishment.

    "Bad English". :87:
    Get to *, you nutter!:smiley-laughing002:

I can speak a wee bit of Spanish and am currently trying to learn German, so I know how hard it can be to try and communicate in another language. If my Spanish (let alone my beginner's German!) Ever reaches the standard of your English, I'll be very, very happy.

Nae probs mate, I thought you were excusing the players for their foul play.

Juventus cheated and the referee done nothing about it. Hope we don't have that ref again. :38:

    That's cheating.

Not all fouls are, some are just mistimed accidents. It's cheating no matter how you shape it up. It's just people are willing to tolerate certain levels of it.

If your spoken English is the same standard as your (very good) written English, then it's good enough for you to get work here. You are lucky in that London is one of the easiest cities in the world to find work. Ask your boss for a few months off to come here and perfect your English. You might even want to nip up to Scotland one weekend and take in a Celtic game. :icon_mrgreen:

I think we can just agree to disagree. I fault the referee and his officials (specifically the guy behind the goals for the Juve game). Had Lichensteiner been given a yellow when he started fouling then he would have thought twice before trying it again.

If Scott Brown hacks down Kaka early in our game with Milan and the ref lets him away with it I would not expect to many on here calling him a cheat. In my opinion the word cheat is tossed around too easily at opposing players while I players just welcome their opponents to Glasgow with a crunching tackle.

This is completely unrelated to your post, but I just quoted you to get your attention. If your location is a joke, then very good because I busted out laughing when I seen "Marmaris, Turkey" :56:

Yup, I agree with all of that. Except it still is cheating, even if people don't label it that, going outwith the rules to gain an advantage is cheating. If they get away with it good on them. Even though it pure * me off last year.

I don't get it. Is that a reference to Thomas?

That's not in anyway similar to what they did.

They were allowed to foul our players at set pieces, constantly.

You're argument is what might happen rather than what did happen..

They held, harrased, cheated and in a normal game would have given away probably 2/3 penalties, had a sending off and some other bookings,it was the most blatant I think I've ever seen..

You counter that with IF Scott brown hacks down kaka, not really the same thing is it?
If Scott brown hacks down any Milan player you'll be sure he gets the free kick and broony gets a booking..
    That's hardly cheating anyhow..

Milan are weak. Lots of injuries and doubts for the game.
