    Exactly this.

They let you guys have the ball because they knew their defence would just outwit every attempt you made. Underhanded tactics and all the rest, footballing wise the tactics won them the game.

Had the early goal gone in your favour then they would have simply outrun you and outmuscled you in the middle of the park where they're the strongest.

It is not really cheating any more than fouling anywhere else on the pitch. All fouls are against the rules. The real problem lies with the officials for allowing fouls to go unpunished.

I'm not disputing the result and tie, sometimes we can all except we were just beaten tactically by the better side,no disgrace they wiped the floor and effectively knocked out the previous winners Chelsea with ease..

But I couldn't help feel a sense of injustice that we were up against a team of that quality and things just didn't go our way they could easily have been down to 10 men and given away at least 1 penalty..
We also had the bombscare performance that was ambrose who should never have played and Lenny takes the blame for that..

We were beaten by the better side as I say but the scoreline was harsh on us,it was never a 5-0 aggregate score..

    Yup. Same thing.

Using means outwith the rules is cheating. Cynical challenges are the same.

Aye fair enough mate, 5-0 was harsh. It just really hurt being gubbed 3-0 at Celtic Park. No one does that to us, no one. :54:

So would you deem any player who recieves a yellow card as having cheated?

Alternatively would you deem a player who recieves a red card as having cheated?

I'm still waiting on answer here. Just to be clear (and as I've already admitted), Juve were the better side and deserved their win. I never said otherwise. I don't think you were fair on me with that comment. I may be a sore loser: but I never denied that Juve deserved the win. I have been known to argue in previous threads that the score was too harsh, but I haven't even been doing that here.
And if you read my posts, you will see I was arguing against blaming the referee, which makes your comment about me blaming the referee particularly unfair.

I hate that game, just want to put it in a box and forget about it...should have known it'd be brought up after we drew an Italian side. :54:

Fair enough . We are all sore loser. The 5-0 was harsh but the better team won, and like i said, to be beaten by Juve is not shame.

Yeah a real sore one,we were quietly confident especially being at home first and the group we'd just progressed from,it was just one step too far..
    Our inexperience showed big time..

What was horrible was the fact there was just under 20 minutes left and they were 3 up and they were already in the last 8..

So would you deem every two footed tackle that goes unpunished as a fair tackle?

Would you deem every off the ball kick that goes unpunished as being okay and part of the game?

No, I would if they have deliberately went outwith the rules to gain an advantage though.

I remember the third goal being later than that. Was it really 20 minutes? I was just staring at the screen in a trance after their third, so I guess it easily could be. When the whistle blew, I put my drink down and left the pub without a word. Since then I haven't even seen highlights or the goals (I usually at least watch the highlights again, even if we lose).

I remember their second being a really good goal, probably worth seeing again...but I'm not going to.

Like you, I knew the tie was over the moment the third went in.

I thought that you said they win because the referee was on their side. Misunderstanding .
