Don't buy your argument tbh its way wide of the mark our youth teams are consistently winners of most of the competitons they enter. They're all capable players, what it comes down to is being given the chance to prove it in the first team. 15mins at the end of a league cup game twice a season isn't enough. Would you stick them in on a regular basis if you were celtic manager? Given the expectations of the support. Prob not. Basically it comes down to a manager giving them the chance (proper chance) and I doubt that'll come to pass.

The apathy on here is * hilarious.

We've replaced a player brought from Beerschot with a highly rated player who could have been at Man City if not for work permit problems, and replaced two players from the English second tier with players from the top leagues of Germany and Holland.

We've also brought in a CL quality LW player.

Give the players time to settle in ffs.

    Becoming all too common now.

Still time left but if we don't sign anyone else it's been massively underwhelming.

Getting through to the CL Group Stages hasn't changed anything. Biton and Pukki were already signing before that result.

New Labour would be proud of that spin. Hooper and Wilson were not 'English second tier' players when we sold then - for a combined £8million. Pukki has a career record of 1 goal in every 5 games and barely got a look in at Schalke: even with Huntelaar's injury, they were willing to sell him to us and Van Dijk looks like a good centre back but we still haven't replaced Wilson with a defender to play alongside him. Biton's signing has covered our need for a central midfielder, agreed. Boeriggter has covered our need for another winger, agreed. Balde is a raw £2million project, nothing more and nothing less while Mouyokolo just fills Rogne's role as a fringe player. But if you think we should be satisfied with the overall business we've conducted, as of now, then you're having a laugh and Peter Lawwell will love cust....fans like you.

we made them the players they became, same with the ones we have bought.

I aint no customer pal. I have been critical of the board in the past.

I'm not going to * wet my frillies though when we are buying players from the Eredvisie and bundesliga ffs.

What the * is it people want? Seriously?

Very disappointing that this window will likely shut with only Pukki, Stokes and Balde as our 3 strikers. We really needed another goal scorer and not getting a left back to challenge Izzy has just added to the bad feeling.

very poor from the board if we don't sign a goal scoring striker in the remaining two and a half hours of the window, still haven't replaced hooper.

So you rate our signings by the league we signed them from? That's what gives you confidence that we will be a better team than we were last season, seriously?

What we want is the basics covered i.e. Hooper replaced with a striker with a track record in scoring goals better than 1 goal in 5 games or not to spend £2million on a project. But that's just me, mate.

It's becoming quite an embarrassment now, Sean.

Throught the majority of Lennon's tenure as manager, the defence has been made up of free transfers/Bosmans and minimum price signings - much to everyone's dismay. A lot has been said on here and off that the onus was not put as much on defence as it was elswehere on the park.

In January, we signed Ambrose for £1.5m, making him the most expensive defender Lennon had signed.

When we signed van * recently, he became Lennon's most expensive defensive signing, and also became the most expensive central defender signed for Celtic since Martin O'Neill made Joos Valgearen his first signing for just over £3m.

Biggest threat to Celtic is Celtic fans....the ill feeling some create is shocking.

Look at where we are at in very difficult financial times with fontina vial fair play rules about to hit many

Hooper cost £2m when we bought him.

He hadn't scored goals at a high level before then. That was a gamble as well.

We made him the player he is.

Wanyama was going nowhere in the Belgian League, no-one seemed to be taking a punt on him, we made him the player he is.

Wilson couldn't get a game for Forrest, we made him the player he is.

Same will hopefully happen with Pukki, Biton and Van Dijk.

People are living in cloud cuckoo land if they think we have either the financial clout or drawing power to buy finished articles for these positions.

People want money spent, but more importantly imo, they want 'name' signings.

There a feeling around here that the more you spend on a player, the better they must be.

Really can't understand why Watt would be allowed to leave unless we were bringing another striker in. He at least provides good quality cover. We look thin up top now.

Watt needs regular games now. Atajic will probably take his place this season in getting game time here and there.

There's a feeling in the whole of football that this is the case. Thats why players command higher transfer fee's. How is that difficult to grasp?

People seemed fairly accepting of the business model we had adopted but now it is being put into action some are getting really angry about it.

We have moved up a level now. We were buying players from the lower reaches of English football, Scandinavia etc...

now we are buying players from Holland and Germany, that is a step in the right direction.

Hopefully as the seasons progress and we keep having a track record of developing players, reaching the CL and selling for profit we will keep moving up in quality of signing.

dont understand the whole deadline day fascination anyway, for me it just shows a clubs ineptness to still be doing business at that time
