you know what I mean. Look at balotelli. He hated England, hated the media, the weather n pretty much everything apart from the fans. He left n now is on fire at ac.

so don't sit there and act like a players personal life doesn't affect how he plays on the pitch cuz its common knowledge. It happens in all sports if your not putting in 100% in training, you're out getting steaming all the time, things like that. N don't act like I pulled it out my *, people on this forum have been saying it for ages. Lennon even came out the other day saying stokes was pretty much being unprofessional at Lennox town last season n that's why he wasn't played .. Not because of who's funeral he went to. Lennon clearly stated it was his unprofessional behavior that got him benched. Same with Ireland but he's got his act together n got his 1st group stage for his effort.

if you think it was smart to keep Tony in Celtic this season then good for you mate. Just saying what everyone on here's been talking about for donkeys. N if that is the case then , it makes sense to give him a wee learning experience. Don't know if you've ever moved out of a country before but can change you perspective on alot of things and you come back a different person. He's not got distractions of all his boy hood mates coming round aww the time n * like that. That's what I meant by the whole house thing ya *!

your mental if you think this isn't a good thing for him.

“I think he has talent. But he has to do more with that talent.”

Which is probably the no.1 reason why Lennon has loaned him out.

And that will only come with getting games under his belt.

Lennon referring to Watt being a "little short on physical condition" in his presser.

Here's a wee extract from Kenny Dalglish's new book:

Jock sent me away to face the former pros. I came back tougher and better

TO TOUGHEN me up, Celtic farmed me out with about four or five other lads to a semi-professional team called Cumbernauld United.

The Scottish League at that time was full of players who were either too old to continue professional football or had been sacked from professional football because they were not good enough.

Those types of fellas often wanted to take their revenge out on somebody so when I was 16, I would be getting kicked everywhere.

But it was a good experience and it did toughen me up.

I had been sent to Cumbernauld for exactly this reason and it was a great place for me to play.

Not quite the same, but I reckon Watt has been sent to Belgium to experience a wee bit of finesse in his personal development as a man AND as a footballer. Just look at how Belgium are teaching their youth over there - it's extraordinary.

I think the Belgium league might be a tiny bit different to that :icon_mrgreen:

I guess we'll see, but I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if he is eventually sold for a pittance considering the talent he has.

Glad to see him score. And regarding his poor fitness, he does look like he's gained at least 10 pound since scoring against Barca, so there has to be some truth to this. Hope he gets his act together and becomes an important figure for Celtic in the future. Good luck, Tony! :50:

I remember hearing a brilliant interview of Charlie Mulgrew in July 2010, just before the start of the season. He talked about how grateful he was that Neil Lennon had given him the chance to return to the club. He said that he didn't appreciate just how lucky he was when he was here on his first spell. He said he previously took for granted everything about the way you are treated as a player at Celtic.

He said it came as a complete shock to go to another club and find out that you had to do things like put up the nets for training and all the other things that players at Celtic don't have to do.

Does anyone think that that attitude shows through every second he is on the park in a Celtic jersey? And that maybe Tony Watt will benefit in the same way? Even if his future doesn't lie at Celtic Park, I'd hope that when he grows up to be a "big boy" he'll value the experience he is getting at the moment.

I totally agree with Wenger who once said that to be successful you need all three of the following qualities:

    Opportunity
    Talent
    Application

we all know bags of underachieving players who only had two out of three. Let's hope Tony isn't one of them.

This cannot be the reason as Belgian women are generally prettier, Belgian beer is better and Belgian bars are open later. No offense meant of course! :icon_mrgreen:

So everyone claiming that he is sent here to keep him off women and booze is delusional.

Belgian beer is too expensive so you drink less (my favourite beers on the rare occasion I drink, though :50:) and Belgian women have never heard of him and so he'll have a much tougher time pulling.
