Sitting here watching the Scottish Football Review and Skippy is in the studio. It got me wondering who people think was the better player for Celtic between Skippy and Gary Hooper.

Forget about transfer fees etc, I'm just talking about who was better on the pitch.

So who do you think was the better Celtic player and why, Skippy or Hooper?

Gary Hooper. Best striker we've had since Larsson, in my opinion.

Hooper. Everything went through Hooper. He made the team click. I liked McDonald but Hooper is on another level

Hooper will romp the poll but in reality I don't believe there is that much in it when you are talking about their performances for Celtic.

Skippy scored goals for Celtic against everyone, from third division teams through the huns and onto the likes of AC Milan.

I rate them quite similarly but Hooper edges it for me.

The only reason McDonald comes close to Hooper is for 2 goals - Milan and Man Utd, apart from that it is Hooper by a mile.

McDonald scored some crackers and vital ones at that but hooper was by far a much much better footballer!

I don't really agree with that. I think that McDonald was just as good a player outside the box as Gary Hooper and I think their overall performances at Champions League level are pretty comparable.

I think he will as well.

With regards to McDonald v Hooper I'm with Markybhoy's reasoning, but to be honest I have equally happy memories of both players.
