Fair enough - article I'd seen was very similar but also had an additional paragraph stating that if both teams (i.e. players new and old club) went through the qualifying rounds and made it to the group stages then this would be an exception to the above and said player WOULD be cup tied!

Either way there's an out of date / incorrect statement flying about!

 

That was last year. No one is cup tied at this stage in either competition.
