Good performance overall and excellent win. You could tell from the off as expected not just were Aberdeen and their fans really up for the game but they had a real confidence and belief about themselves. So while we struggled to get into the game for the first 25 minutes or so I thought we defended well and for all Aberdeen's work they never looked like scoring. In fact the only real chance they had in the whole 90 minutes was when Forster saved brilliantly from McGinn early in the second half.
Once we got going late in the half we started to look dangerous and I though we were full value for the lead at half as Ledley had one good effort well saved before Samaras was brought down for the PK. Second half we passed the ball pretty well and we really should have scored at least 1 if not 2 goals before we got Forrest in late on for the second.
I agree with those above who had Izzy down as playing well. I thought that was a big performance from him not just attacking wise but he made a few important defensive interceptions as well. Commons' pk wasn't great but he deserved his goal for a good all round performance as well. Aberdeen will I think be in contention in the top half of the table this year which is progress for them so a very good result for us to go up there and win comfortably.

well done celts another 3 points in the bag, CL Game is the next big game for us to get over. fair play to Aberdeen today i though after the pen and they were down to 10 we would win by 5 or more, but we still need to bring in a striker.

    We got them pumped!

Mark my words, crowds at the seagull dome will plummet, deserting *.

The silence from their fans today is deafening. I've not gloated once in fifteen years. No need. It's expected.

Why do you want Aberdeen's crowds to drop? :97:

Not read the thread during the match the commentator instead of crediting the 20 k crowd he mentioned there was still a couple of hindered seats left like it was a major deal then along came a clip to his reply with the camera on the stand there's a few of the seats I was talking about... WHY???

He was and long may it continue. Very professional performance by the bhoys to silence the dons. Let's hope the players are motivated for the Champions League tie now.

I thought we did well yesterday. We looked a bit tighter at the back though still having absolutely nothing up front. The red card was the turning point if it that wasnt given I think it could have been a very different game. Aberdeen put in a decent shift as well - hopefully they can keep it up for the rest of the season. Considering that was about as tough a game as we will get in the league this season and we had a few injuries and we had one eye of Europe, I thought we done a good job.

Samaras and Commons need help granted - but we're working on it still.
I think second half of what you said is bang on. With one eye on a massive flight to Khazikstan you'd have maybe allowed the player's minds to wander (it is a crucial game out there). Not a bit of it. I was happy with how we played all things considered.

Was the same on bbc Scotland listening to chris mclauglin constantly keep reminding us that there was empty seats even though it was 20 thousand plus and that the last time it sold out was in 2007 against rangers..
One day I'll listen to that guy and he won't be talking about them :31:

There was another time where I think it was sammy got fouled in the first half and he was literally shouting 'he got the ball, aww he clearly got the ball there' and willie miller said naw I don't agree with you one bit it was a stonewall foul on (I think samaras)..

Did better than he has been doing to be fair but still nowhere near the standard he can be, I'd be worried if we went into a Champions League group stage game with him being a first choice midfielder right now.

Good to hear he is improving anyway. I desperately want him back to his best form where he just dominated every midfield he came up against. Would love to see a midfield trio of Brown - Kayal - Ledley again
