We started the game well, but the heads went down after the first goal went in. It was a very soft goal to lose. Normally efe would have dealt with that but he was on the bench. Everyone froze for a split second and the boy that scored, nobody tracked his run.

After that we lost our shape a bit. We tried to change it at half time and we were worse.

It was one of those games where the starting lineup was difficult to effectively fix and we chased the game, they stuck to their gameplan and picked us off on the break.

Out that mobs 10 shots I can only mind 2 on target, the two goals. The rest all seemed to go miles past - hilariously bad shots.

If we dont pump them by 3 or 4 next week we should allow fans to have a free boot to each players baws.

    Shocking performance the night.

No excuses. I don't care if we had more possession or shots. We did not create enough clear cut chances and definisively we were utter *.

I could blame the board for not giving money for new signings, Lenny for wrong tactics, but the blame has to go to those 11 on the pitch in green and white ultimately. They thought it was a walkover when it never was going to be. I hope Lenny gives them a good kick up the * for that.

Still, we have a good chance of recovering the tie at Celtic Park. Let's just hope we put in a much, much better performance next week.

Just watched the highlights there. Who on earth was that lead commentator btw? Sounded like an elderly German woman.

Performance wasn't too bad. Improved a lot since Elfsborg.

Can't understand why - for the 3rd game running - we haven't started with any strikers.

Hate to say it but we're out. No chance we'll score three without reply.

just went online to get tickets for some of my mates who didn't renew their season tickets. Ironically this result seems to have whet their appetite. They are both convinced we will turn this around, ticket sales look good so far. Hope this a sell out and we can capitalise on the atmosphere. I just dont think I could cope with a season of just domestic games and no excitement bar the europa league :87:

I really don't know man. The way that pitch seemed to playing really suited their style of play. I think at Celtic Park we'll have a much better chance. Need to get our act together in both penalty boxes though.

Never posted on this thread until now, never wanted to jinx it...hate going into the unknown.
2 nil but in all honesty it coulda been so much different if we'd planted our chances but Hey! that's football.
We've gotta believe we can turn this around...i do

3 or 4 nil would be great but right now i'll take 2 nil and finish them in extra time :shamrock:

If lenny gets his tactics right and puts out the right players and not that muoyokolo disaster then we should atleast be able to beat them 2-0. They were not a good side and we could just have easily scored 4 goals tonight. Commons, Van Dijk and Mouyokolo all had efforts off the line and Forrest had a golden chance to score with a header. I think we can get through this, just need to get the right boys on the park, no Samaras upfront FFS!

Very disappointing performance against a very average team. Why on earth was Samaras selected for solitary striker. He barely moves, like a statue. poor choice by Lennon. He is best suited on the left. Forster looked poor. Every time he receives a backpass, i have my fingers crossed that he he kicks it with lift and and upfield, for the first goal, he initially from such a backpass, panicked and drove it straight to the opposition, from whence a couple of long throw ins emanated, which ultimately led to a goal. i have to say, very much lousy defending for both goals. Forrest seems to have lost confidence, possibly after injury, he rarely takes someone on and appears to have lost some pace. There was no one in the midfield capable of producing a penetrating/quality/reverse/forward thinking pass. All we have are personnel producing run of the mill stuff, square, no quick incisive one, two's in the last third, where it matters. The only one who looked capable of scoring was Commons and i would not call him a striker, just a player of some skill who shows up as the others are so average. Remember that team we played tonight were only very, very average.

You have saved me a lot of typing, I agree with all of that. I would also add that we look like we need a couple of quality signings. I'm worried that we're not going to get them tbh.

I've hardly been on since the game, but I'm sure everything I want to say has already been said. Absolutely woeful performance, truly shocking tactics, and although Karagandy are nothing special at all, they are fairly well organized at the back.

We know what to expect next week though. Celtic doing all the attacking and them sitting deep with 11 men behind the ball, Forrest will lose the ball as he always does now and then they will hit us on the counter attack.

It is vital that we score at least 2 in the first half next week and not concede. Get in at half time 2-2 on aggregate and then finish them off in the second half.

Hopefully Forrest is nowhere near the starting 11 next wednesday, can't see him being dropped though

    Dear Celtic fans,

I truely believed that you would win with two or three goals difference.I indeed believed so. But I was hoping for a miracle! And it happened! Thanks to * and Khizhnichenko and Finonchenko!

Best of luck in second leg match! I respect your nation and Celtic FC. You are a big club with a history more than a century! For me irish and scottish football trademark is Celtic and I am happy to be a winner over such a team! Never could imagine that. Anyway best of luck! I think you have still a very decent chance to smash our team. Anyway I cheer wholeheartedly for Shakhter while wish you best of luck!

    With respect from Kazakhstan,
    M
