For me, if Lennon would have got the game right, we would have win this or at least get a draw. It took him 82 min to realize he got it wrong, that is really shocking.
Also playing two new defenders punished us, the second goal was on Steven, * horrible header, brings back memories to Majstorovic.

 

It's the most infuriating thing to watch I've been saying it for ages pass back,out to the wing,come back inside,pass out to the other wing,faint to run and cut back inside and pass every * time..

Not that I'm his biggest fan but Ambrose should have started, van dijk is woeful and Ambrose has far more UCL experience...

Formation above isn't exactly rocket science Lennon. I was one of the fans who were pretty calm and patient about new players coming in. Before Clifftonville I was like "Ok, we can pump them easily" and I was right, before Elfsborg I was a bit uncomfortable with us still not signing a striker, but we went through and all was fine. But to gamble, no matter who we are playing, in a match worth 20 mil. is just crazy and stupid.

 

Van Dijk was the stand-out shocker for me the night, if I have to single one player out (which I don't wish to do).

 

Should of got all our transfer business done earlier in the summer but even with the current team we should of beat them ffs got to be our worst result since the huns died, we have had things a bit too easy since they died hopefully this brings the team back to reality.

 

Should be beating these 3 or 4 nil at Parkhead.

 

What an absolute shambles, i dont think i can stomach the post match reaction.. an admittance of not being good enough tonight followed by a shower of * involving playing surface, humidity, internationals, jet lag and whatever else they can pull out their *. Ohhhh... lack of signings of course.

Fair play to them though, shows what you can achieve when you defend as an organised unit. Although we know this cause its the only time we achieve any success ourselves. Complete favorites and all these excuses seem more of a distraction than their worth... its negative. Thus taking away from the fact we should have been very confident, but not arrogant of doing better today.

Also Lennon never ceases to amaze me with his negative tactics/substitutes that game was crying out for Sammy to be replaced about 15 mins into the second half as ineffectual as I've seen him! yet again as in every qualifier we have had Lennon makes no attacking subs.. especially before 70-80 minutes and happy to take a 1-0 loss or when at home a 1-0 win and that cost us dearly today with them getting a second. Celtic Vs Elfsborg (Kayal, Samaras off-Mulgrew Ledley on) Elfsborg Celtic (Mulgrew, Samaras off - Mathews, Stokes on) Similiar in the Ross Country game, before Stokes spared our blushes that time.

Apologies for the rant, but that was pathetic.. i dont know why but i still have complete faith we will overturn this but who knows. Our players dont want to raise there performance against sub par competition evidently.

Lennon is Lawwells yes man lap dog, the way he back tracked in the papers today about not worrying about going with what we have was bullshit, last week he wanted 2 in by monday, the week before he wanted 2 in and was trying to press the buttons, man up * sake, youre the manager tell lawwell what you * want.

I agree with this so much. I don't think I "get" Ledley a lot of the time. He contributed nothing but sidewards and and backward passes all night, created nothing directly. But because he stays under the radar a lot, he's less prone to criticism than other players.

 

Knock this * on the * head, it was embarrassing before the match and it's just painfully absurd now.
