The pitch was rubbish tonight as Lennon said at the start there was a definite incline on it you could see it once when the ball ran away from mulgrew

 

Would have taken 0-0 before the game started. But let's be honest, that performance simply isn't good enough. So poor in possession it was unbelievable. Apart from the two chances first half we didn't look like scoring, and we created virtually zilch. If they had a good striker in their ranks we were out tonight. Carry that performance into the play off round and we can forget about it in my opinion.

 

well done celtic job done, now bring in a striker or two.

 

yea I know he was hurt for the first part of last season but he still came of the bench and didn't start most of the games he was fit for.

 

I have no doubt we're trying to get players either.

My concern is getting the players who done so well last season (we are only minus two, albeit majorly influential) to get a grip. That is all.

 

I think you are getting far too worked up about tonight, we got through in difficult circumstances.

My take on it was that it was the most frustrating game I've ever seen Celtic play and Elfsborg were the most frustrating team we've ever played. Yeah we have been beat badly before and we haven't played well but that was the worst for it across the two legs.

I seen right away that their two centre halves were big diddies which was shown constantly across the games. The team itself wasn't that great either it was just our wrongdoings that made them seem above average. Yet we play no recognised strikers to capitalise on their * poor defence.

Right, ambrose shouldn't play for us again, lost my voice shouting at him, heart rate increases every time he has the ball in good reason. The whole squad * about at the back with the ball was what got me most tonight. We should have just lumped it away and danger over but no we kept it and passed it around. Wrong thing to do.

Everyone complaining about the pitch pre game with good reason, so to counter that surely we must play the long ball, not on the deck where the pitch will effect us most. We had samaras up front to do that but we didn't really do that sadly. I wouldn't have brought stokes on but balde, at least he's a target man. Chuck whipped in some half decent balls today but sadly doesn't have the pace to be played wide left. Another repeated thing.

Thought izaguirre was decent tonight defensively his passing was understandably bad due to the pitch. Wilson although he may be away was lucky tonight not to have been giving penalties away, those tackles today were jailbait and very risky.

Samaras sadly not at the races today maybe due to injury and stokes not up to much either when he came on, the pass made to commons was simple but hey ho. Would never have had commons on that free kick at that point. Had mulgrew written all over it.

 

In the SPL he had 11 starts and came on 6 times as a sub last season, so that's quite an untrue statement considering he recovered from his injury in January time then still needed to gain some match fitness before starting every week. I'm not saying he's one of Lenny's "favourites" but I definitely think he likes him and would prefer to play him over the unproven Balde.

 

I think lennon showed them to much respect tonight in regards with the team selection and formation

 

Were through, and a step closer to the group stages. Two games, two clean sheets. Who gives a * about the performance tonight, we will bring in new players, and we have a few guys who are injured that will play (Derk and Van Dijk etc). I'm happy with it.

 

Dev, you might be right. And we do normally agree on most matters Celtic. I always try find the positive. There weren't any tonight apart from qualifying.

I think I'm more * at the severe lack of anything. I know the argument is circumstances and conditions. But for me that isn't a good enough excuse considering we've done better in worse.
