I'm so worried if that is the team we are going to have this season.

    I'm sorry...is the pitch BENT?

even then, that's not a good excuse to get played off the park for the almost the whole game.

The manager and players said after the game that it's a different kind of pitch to anything they have played on before. That has to be taken into account.

As I said earlier, I've never in my time watching Celtic saw a performance where I would not give a single outfield player pass marks. The pitch has to be a factor, surely?

It's a big camber in the middle, then it rises up again towards the touchline and has a wee camber next to the sidelines as well.

We weren't 'played off the park' it was relatively even with the best chances falling to Sammy, Ledley and Stokes to play in Commons at the end.

We weren't used to that pitch at all, we couldn't pass it about on it. They know every inch of it. That is a massive leveler in terms of the play.

I think Elfsborg were incredibly cynical as well.

    Fair enough.

But that * pitch does not accounts to closing down and defending. That was woeful

We really have to admit here that the team were * poor and some.

I can't agree more with this.

The performance - especially first half - showed that we were extremely uncomfortable with the surface.

Yes, the pitch was *, but the pitch doesn't influence poor positioning, lethargy, aimless hoofing, poor finishing, disorganisation, and misplaced short passes.

Were through... I'm delighted! But we need to sharpen up significantly or we will struggle desperately in the next round, or get horsed in the CL / Europa group stages if we make it.

Lenny also needs to see that Ambrose is a bombscare and get him moved on asap whilst he still enjoys a decent profile from his national team exploits. He is so disorganised that exchanging him for a brand new team member (even at this late stage of the transfer window) is a gamble worth taking.

I thought we defended quite well outside of individual mistakes from Efe Ambrose again - mainly getting bullied like * from Bangura. I can't remember any big chances that they had or big saves that Forster had to make due to our bad defending? Infact there was a Bangura overhead kick and a * header and that was about it. We kept them to very little apart from that.

I think the pitch may play some part but the defence was a bomb scare every time they crossed the ball or hoofed it towards our centre halves. Wilsons inability to head properly and ambroses ability to do anything cannot be blamed on the pitch.

I thought our defence looked bad against Cliftonville away as well. We just got away with it.

At least Wilson is going and Ambrose should never get a sniff of the first team. I can't remember the last time we played so bad but didn't lose, which is really the only positive of the night

Look at Elfsborg's home record and then look at their away record. I'm sure we're not the first ones to see them play like * in our stadium and then go there and be mystified.

Our defence dealt well with Bangura.

There's a camber on the pitch, Lennon even mentioned it before the game.

Poor performance but the main thing is that we are through to the playoffs.
I'll take any team in the next round, bring them on! :shamrock:
