I agree mate, and I've just noticed I've put in the wrong team :52:

    Forster

    Lustig Wilson Mulgrew Izaguirre

    Brown Kayal Commons Ledley Samaras

    Stokes

I think this team is absolutely spot on - gives yer man Stokes an extra 2 partners on the offensive - with Commons moving further up, and Samaras going up top (Ledley covering the defensive left side, and Brown and Kayal both moving further inside covering).

Is this your opinion or has he been ruled out tonight?

I think that's the team we'll go for to be honest mate and I wouldn't argue against it :50:

If Stokes has a game like he did leading the line in the Europa League, I'd be very happy.

I'll be disappointed if he doesn't start tonight, I really will.

Actually, I just get a feeling that he will be going with Samaras up front.

Anybody think that Baldé might start?

Samaras has to start on the left, Stokes should be a guaranteed starter for me.

I fully agree he isn't a lone striker and never will be but the only other viable option is playing Sammy up top and Commons on the left which removes our counter attacking ability which both Mjallby and Lennon have mentioned the past day or 2.

I haven't heard any interviews from the management about the game, but this sounds promising :50:

I tend to agree with Hammer there.

In any case, I hope we take the initiative tonight and do not rely on our 1-0 lead. If they score first, it could become a very difficult night.

Its annoying that we dont have good pace to counter teams except for Forrest and Samaras. Would be ideal to have a McGeady in the squad as well so we could have 3 fast players who can break forward at pace, we dont have anyone who has pace in the middle of the park only down the wings.

Brown and Kayal are pretty quick off the mark.

    As is Ledley.

Our best counter attacking players are actually Izzy, Lustig and Matthews for me.

I agree - but I was answering his question to our players in the middle :50:

Izaguirre - even if he goes a bit Gung-ho at times - is one of our best at counter attacking. His pace is an exceptional weapon in our arsenal.

Lustig is our sort of "Mr. Dependable". He's also deceptively fast, pretty well balanced and quite a clever footballer.

    Matthews is just quality.

I know I meant attacking players though like Commons and Stokes positions.

Dortmund were so good and tore teams apart because Bla????????wski :smiley-laughing002: Gotze, Reus and Lewandowski could all break at pace as they're all quick.

Us though we have no pace in the attacking midfield position or up top. So we are limited to the wings, Commons and Stokes arent just slow runners either but they also slow the game down as they take a lot of touches and hold the ball to long most of the time.

Wonder how we'd have got on if we had McGeady in behind Hooper. As a team of

    Forrest McGeady Samaras
    Hooper

Would have had good pace on the counter for European games.

It's vital Wanyama puts in a decent shift tonight, he's been quiet the past few games. Hooper could be doing with a goal aswell, stokesy has been showing him up recently.

    Forster
    Wilson K.Wilson Loovens Fox
    Wanyama Hartley
    Forrest Robson McGeady
    Hooper

Hooper, Robson and Fox getting on the score sheet
